“After a recommendation from my daughter I booked The Cottage. What a wonderful find. Great place to stay so clean and comfortable. Lovely woodfire makes it so cosy. Accommodation is great. The bedroom is very comfortable and you can see the stars when in bed. There is also a single room with twin beds. The garden is lovely my two dogs loved it and I knew they were safe as it is well fenced. Lovely walks round the area. After my weeks stay I felt so relaxed and can't wait to go back. A great find.”

I was present when James entered the shop, helped himself to coffee without asking or being offered (I appreciate we’ve all been raised differently!) .. jumped the queue .. before announcing ‘the last barber messed my haircut up and I would like mine washing now’ .. I was in the seat near the window and I looked at the owner with an expression of ‘what the ***‘ absolutely amazed at his rudeness. Still.. they all treated him with respect. Amazed to see the review below ! I too have been going to this barbers since they opened. They are 100% top drawer. Absolutely professional, courteous and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. A credit to Glossop.”

“Have only visited here for breakfast. Has to be the best independent café, I have visited in Glossop. Staff are really friendly. Food is five star couldn’t ask for more. The only criticism I would have is there is not many tables, but it’s what I think makes unique.”

“A lovely welcoming place you can choose what you want too do paint or make a birthday card or do a Quiz and in summer their organise walks to Portland basin etc.Free coffee and a chat when you want. Nice atmosphere can be mixed group”

Everyone has an opinion on local takeaways, often varied but I can say factually that we have used Taj Balti for about 7 years and have been consistently happy with the quality, generosity of portions, friendly and helpful service, thoughtful touches. My partner is a fussy eater who will stick to what he likes and he rates their vegetable samber as among the best, also their raita, naan, lamb hoppers and chicken pakoras are particularly good. Plenty of interesting dishes to try from chef's special menu if you are a bit more adventurous than my partner. Better value than the other Indian / Bangladeshi takeaways in Glossop without compromising quality.”

“My little boy loves going to nursery then to preschool here. He gets when there are holidays so he can't go. He has bonded with every member of staff and has grown in his development in every way. I would recommend little stars to anyone who wants kind caring and dedicated staff to look after their child along with home grown produce making up the home made organic foods they eat.”

“Amazing audiology team I can't remember the gentlemans name but he was so nice and I felt like they actually cear after waiting nearly a year to get some help with my hearing I finally have a snazy hearing aid and can hear properly for the first time in years. Thank you for all your help.”

“How these guys have such a low star rating is beyond me?? First time we tried them was Christmas Eve and it did take longer than expected to arrive, but it was Christmas Eve so that's understandable. Food arrived hot and was really delicious, they are so different to the other Chinese takeaways and restaurants around and definitely have their own flavour (spicy salt and pepper seasoning, but this is honestly great if you like that moreish spice level). Second time there was one item missing from our order (nothing major, just seaweed, but my partner loves it) and when I called they said they would be unable to come out as they were rammed. About 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door and they had taken the time to drive out and deliver a single box of seaweed (very happy girlfriend). It would be easy to see little faults and give a low rating, but the reason I rate so highly is because they make every effort to give the best service they can and they are obviously popular and busy, its just a shame more people aren't coming on to give these guys a good rating. If you're not sure about these guys because of the rating I say try them and you'll be pleasantly surprised, if you don't like it then maybe consider its just not your style rather than putting a one star rating, they have great food and they really put the effort in!”
