The Plaza Stockport Café
“This cafe is well talked about and very popular with the locals. It's a hidden gem of Stockport. If you like a Sunday afternoon tea this is the place. Lots of little cakes and good quality tea, the thing to have is the teared plates. But will set you back 15 per person. But well worth it. Little sandwiches. Nice. It's all art deco... so it makes you feel like you should dress up to visit!! Service is quite posh here. Love the 1930 feel.”

Crown & Cushion
“Friendly busy pub. Always a smile at the bar. Welcoming locals to the "comers in". Sporting events advertised on Facebook so you know what's coming up so you can get chance to make your excuses to the wife (or husband) for missing the family event in advance. Nice beer garden to the rear.”
Arden Arms
“We visited today as we were on a dog walk in the area, and ended up at the pub for lunch. It's a great pub! Fabulous staff and lovely food. Dogs are allowed inside which is great for us. My son loved the play area too. We'll be back! Thank you”

The Edinburgh Castle Pub
“Ineffably delectable. I can’t remember a meal I have enjoyed as much. Thank you for superb service, wonderful wine and fantastic food - all for a very, very reasonable price.”
Kings Arms
“Back to the way pubs used to be, there was a real sense of welcome on arrival, and also a lot of looks from the locals as I was a new face. I instantly got talking to the guy on the stool next to me followed by another local who also seemed keen to socialise. Quite a few in the big room watching football, a few people to the sides reading books and the papers. The fact its attached to a restaurant lends itself to staying for that extra drink, and taking a meal home to appease the wife! Really nice bar and environment, it's back to how pubs used to be, makes a really refreshing change.”
O'Neill'S Printworks
“In Manchester for wedding anniversary and stumbled on this pub as it was near our hotel. Absolutely wonderful to hear live music, total mixture of ages of customers, made to feel very welcome so much so we returned the next night. Very professional staff and bouncers, all public areas very clean and well maintained. Only downfall was they ran out of glasses and some drinks were in plastic tumblers, which at the age of over 50 was not ideal but as I said didn't put us off as we came back the next evening. Very nice customers as well”
The Circus Tavern
“Great little boozer. Very welcoming for a few Kildare heads out for a few pints on our hollibops. Full of great characters. Hopefully back soon!”
The Gas Lamp
“A favourite of ours since moving to Manchester. Friendly staff, chilled vibe and great selection of beers in an authentic, vintage environment. It's a hidden gem, down some stairs in a basement and stands out from the usual garish, chain or flashy cocktail bars of Spinningfields.”
Dover Inn
