“After moving to The Heatons we struggled to find a good Indian takeout/ restaurant until we discovered Bay Leaf. It's all fresh and cooked to order and not to greasy, so no bloated stomachs the next day. The staff are wonderful and friendly too. “Ordered and collected from Woondaal for the first time tonight and was not disappointed. Bought a Woondaal Special Kebab Box, Keema on chips and some onion bhajis. Donner meat was cooked in a lovely sweet sauce with stir fried peppers and onions, chicken and lamb tikka was pleasantly moist and flavoured well and naan benefitted from the meat juices. Overall a massive portion but great quality too! Keema mince was very spicy but awesome. Definitely our new go to place! 9/10”

“Extremely good takeaway food! We regularly go here of a weekend and have never been disappointed. Curries are very tasty and the banquet starter is an excellent sharer to kick off a meal. The portions are large and the food seems freshly made, it takes 15 -20 mins to cook and you can watch them work in the very open kitchen. Staff very friendly. Highly recommended.”

The dishes are much more interesting than your usual Indian restaurant - with so much more flavour and beautifully presented. There are excellent vegetarian choices for both starters and main courses. The staff are really friendly and attentive and keen to chat about the menu if you need help choosing. “Had an awesome Kottu and Sri Lankan food experience after some time. We live in Leeds and have not been able to find any Sri Lankan restaurants around here. Found this little gem which is about 1 and half hours away but it was worth the trip. The Kottu was great and had an authentic taste to it. Can recommend and will be visiting again.”

“Ordered from Mr Ali’s for the first time today and will definitely be our go to Indian takeaway from now on! They offer a 15% off on takeaway orders which is an added bonus :) We ordered a collection and when we got home noticed we were missing a portion of chips and we called them and they resolved the issue straight away and within 10 minutes they delivered a portion of chips! They even put onion bhajis in the bag as an apology! Cannot fault this place at all. Great quality food, great customer service! 10/10 recommend.”

“My absolute go-to for karahi chicken (on the bone. They have off the bone option also). Really generous servings and you can choose your spice level. Their rotis are the best too. Lovely amiable staff and the prices are more than reasonable, would be quite happy to pay more just for the service alone.”

“The best chicken kebabs in stockport! And SO reasonably priced. Their tikka kebabs come on a lovely naan bread (made to order) and with any salad or sauces you may want. The meat samosas are also amazing and are only £2.50 for 3! One thing I will say- the curries aren’t for me, they are not spicy enough and a little bland as I think they maybe cater to English people instead of keeping it authentic. However… if it’s a kebab you are looking for this place CANNOT be beaten. (It’s also spotlessly clean)”
