“I gave it 5 stars because it is nostalgic to me. It was my Dads pub in the 60s, I seem to recall it was his second home. The first time I went in was my last day in school at Bishop Greer on Taylor st. I was promptly marched out. My last visit was in the 80s whilst on leave from the Army. I love the Vulcan but the locals used to call it "The Monkey".”

I look forward to going there every weekend, they not only told us about the meal deals for the week, but also told us about the discounted dessert value meal, anyone who placed an order with us inquired about our allergies, which was a first-time for us. extremely skilled, we would certainly return because both the food and the beer were excellent.”

“Honestly, what a take over I was worried about the void that was left from the botanist however the take over has been impressive, they offer a wide range of food and drinks and the staff are kind and welcoming from the get go through to the end, will be returning.”

“We used the this place for a work event. The venue itself was lovely and looked really nice, really suiting our needs. However the thing that I appreciated the most was the support from the staff throughout the whole day. “WoW...! , I have just had the nicest breakfast sandwich in a long time. The food seemed top quality. You may find this place to have slightly higher prices then some cafes. But in my eyes its worth every penny. The staff also were friendly. They have marquee outside as well as inside dinning. It looked extremely cosy well set out and extremely clean.”

“I went in here with my dad and brother. Staff are lovely and friendly, the pub was really clean, and the drinks were poured well. The pub is large too! Prices are great considering current prices and I've always like Holts' brand. A big plus is the location. The fact its in Gorton but doesn't attract riff raff is massive for me. You can drink here without feeling unsafe. Brand new pool table, free on Tuesdays.”

“My wife and I took our girls to celebrate booking a holiday in the U.S. The food was great. "Nicely American" for want of a better phrase. Tasty and reasonable price. The place was very busy (and so quite noisy, hence only 4 out of 5 for the atmosphere). But the team were on top of it with not long to wait for food. Great job. Our 'server', Savannah, was brilliant. So friendly, helpful and polite. Very attentive without smothering us. I noticed every time she passed our table she had a quick look to see if drinks needed refreshing, where we were at with food, etc. She (like the rest of the staff) were working really hard. Really enjoyed it and great food with great service made me want to go back again soon. Thanks!”
