“Is it the pasta or the sauce? Set aside any fears of school dinner Mac and cheese, Sugo is on a different level altogether. Having lucked out on getting a table after 2 years of living nearby, I relished the chance to review them. The space is warm but snug. Large parties will struggle especially with COVID restrictions. Not an issue in summer, but a possible one in Winter. They’re dog friendly as they have some seating outside, so please specify this when booking. Onto the primi piatti! Expect luscious pasta cooked to the correct side of al dente. It seems to inhale the sauces that make use of the starch and premium stock in lieu of cream. All making for a far more palatable meal. And the sauce. The term does not do the flavours and texture justice. The melange of spices and components be they vegetarian or not, are sublime. Just a taste of the seafood pasta alone conveyed everything in one bite. Not to be outdone, their beverage selection is nothing short of brilliant. The chinotto brought back fond memories of Kinni cola. Sadly I did not have time to partake of dolce but will endeavour to do so next time.”

“Firstly I think it’s important to note this is a cafe that is connected to a family support centre and counselling service. It’s cheap and it is supposed to be somewhere accessible for people who access the services next door, as well as for anybody who uses the park. I actually came here not because of this but because I had attended a baby class in the adjoining room, so my friend and I had coffee and cake here. It’s a great little place, so cheap and the staff are friendly too. There’s a seating area outside as well for warmer days. It’s a lovely little cafe if you’ve had a walk in the park or want to meet a friend with your little ones. They also offer a range of food and I’ve-cream in summer, but we always went primarily for coffee and cake, both of which were always spot on. We used to go here every week after baby classes, and will continue to do so after Covid. This cafe definitely deserves our support so that it stays open in the future.”

“I had a very last minute event that I desperately needed a cake for. I contacted Mama’s cuisine and they graciously agreed to sort me out with a 12 inch cake. The owner only had a days notice and had other orders, but still managed to make mine, and had it ready earlier than agreed which was so great. Not only did the cake look DIVINE (and better than I could even imagine), but it tasted AMAZING! Everyone was so impressed with the cake, it actually became the centre piece of the party. I am forever grateful for Mamas Cuisine, and will most definitely be coming back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

The food is superb with first class flavours and presentation accompanied by excellent wine. All of this at incredibly affordable prices makes it an experience not to be missed! “A superb restaurant. We visited twice in a space of a month after getting a take away from them while at friends of ours. On the first visit, there was a very noisy table of 10 people and the waiter offered to move us downstairs, which was perfect. The food was good from the takeout but in the restaurant it was fabulous. Last night was our second visit and thankfully, although the restaurant was full, the atmosphere was very pleasant. Service was excellent and if I could ask for anything to be changed at all, is to ask for our food to come soon after the popodums and dips. It seems the popularity of the restaurant making it particularly busy on Saturday night on the takeout side, so while orders go out to be collected we had to wait for our food a little more than we'd want to. Again, this would never stop us from going again as it is simply one of the best Indian meals we had for a long time!”

“By chance I discovered this recently opened little gem of a cafe in Hale Village adjacent to the railway station. This cafe is on the second floor above an art gallery and is immaculately clean and simply but tastefully decorated. Very polite and attentive staff with a good selection of nicely cooked food and drinks at very reasonable prices. It is an ideal location to relax and meet your friends for a coffee or a light meal throughout the day.”

“We stopped in here for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding and had we had more time we would have kept chatting with our server. This was made perfect by the quality and taste of the 3 dishes we had. The Babaghanouj, Bourak and Maklubeh were outstanding! We’d never had the 2 last dishes and loved the flavor. If we every get back to Altrincham this will definitely be our first stop.”

“We went to Phanthong for lunch on Saturday and ordered from the A La Carte menu. The decor is lovely. The food was presented beautifully and absolutely delicious. We had young kids with us and they loved the food too, especially the pad Thai noodles. The service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back again.”
