“Went to purchase some toys for my sons birthday today. One was a twin pack of monster trucks. I asked the lady if we could choose particular ones. Usually you just get what you get but she was amazing and went to check if they had the one we wanted. They didn't so she then rang Elk Mill to see if they had the one we wanted and offered all help she could to find the particular ones. Unfortunately she couldn't find them but was so lovely and let us choose between what they had in. Usually nobody would do this so i was so grateful to her. Her name was Amanda and i think she deserves alot of credit. Thank you so much Amanda. There should be more workers like Amanda!”

Slowly building a stock of other items like gifts, most of which are very local which is fab. Love local supporting local. Also the pies and brownies are to die for. “Went in for a late breakfast with my other half. Asked for a small adjustment to the vegan breakfast which they were happy to do. All the staff were super pleasant and the place had a really chilled, warm vibe. To top it off the food was exceptional, and the coffee was also really good. Will definitely be back!”

We listened to the Brass band playing outside the Legion, popped into a few of the shops, bought some wares and on route back to the car park stepped into the Hare & Hounds. It was quieter than the other pubs we had passed, the combination of old look furniture and new look paint work still leaves the impression with a pleasant nostalgic feel to the past. The two female bar staff were lovely and friendly, as were the locals we spoke to. Very pleased we dropped in on a whim, I hasten to add the driver had a lime and soda.
