Dave is very calm with Tiggy, and taught her to socialise with other dogs; and Tiggy is very happy going with him! I totally trust Dave and feel I can relax knowing Tiggy is with the best walker.”

La Boheme
● Open“Had an awesome meal with a mate. Between courses they'd come out with little tasters and you can have a choice of breasts both gratis as part of the experience. Cost more than plenty of restaurants, but not ridiculous either considering it was all very nice. A few reviews mention weirdness with the staff (probably gone now), we had nothing like that. My images show the haddock starter with sweet chilli and ginger, and my dessert. Sorry forgot the pic of my main course, the steak and peppercorn Just note that if you are funny about trying new things with this as a French restaurant, the menu descriptions were in English, and while there's plenty of fancy things, you can still have twists on very English choices. Cost £38 for 2 courses on the Xmas menu, then paid more for desert and drinks”

Currently this week on a training course in the area and we stopped off to have an authentic beautiful and delicious meal. Incredibly friendly service would not hesitate to come back. Such a lovely restaurant which proves that individual restaurants are the best. The place is full of personality and friendliness. I’ll definitely be back next month from an Italian background myself. The food was amazing and some of the best I’ve ever had”

Platzki
● Open“The food was really delicious and I loved the modern take on the more traditional dishes. It's different from all other restaurants I have been to (in the best way possible), and I found it quite refreshing and exciting to try dishes that aren't so common and easily found elsewhere. The food and the cocktails were beautifully presented (10/10 for aesthetic) and the staff were really friendly.”

Remal Restaurant
● Open“I don't know why I travel all the way into Manchester City Centre when there are local places like this!! This place is a hidden gem! My friend ordered the potato kibbeh - these were small and delightful with a thin crusty texture on the outside and the mashed potato and lamb mince on the inside. I ordered the sucuk, thin slices of a spicy beef sausage - the flavours were strong and moreish. These were served with a basket of homemade white flatbread which were incredibly fresh and soft - they were pitta shaped but were fluffy and pillowy, not the hard dry white stuff you get in supermarkets! The waiter assured us that there was always plenty of bread available and sure enough we had another basket of lovely bread with our main courses. We both ordered the Chef's Mix which were skewers of charcoal grilled marinated meats - chicken, minced lamb and lamb shish pieces, served on a bed of onions and parsley and a chilli sauce. We also ordered a mudjadara rice between us as a side dish - a mix of lentils and rice cooked in spices and topped with crispy fried leeks. Yummy. We both agreed that although the flavour profile of the meats were quite similar to other nearby places (e.g. Turkish restaurants), the seasoning was better balanced here and most importantly, the cooking of the meat was excellent. Here, the chicken was succulent and tender, not dry and hard, and overall it looks like they know when to take it off the grill! At other places the charcoal grilling has left the meat hard and burnt at the edges with a bitterness - here everything was cooked just right. Although we were stuffed and were only considering an Arabic coffee, we both encouraged each other to go for a dessert. Unfortunately my friend's Halwa wasn't available so he joined me in a Muhallebia. Now normally I'm not one to bother with a dessert - I prefer crisps to chocolates and would rather have starter and main instead of main and dessert! And we were already incredibly stuffed! But this dessert blew my mind - a delicious milky pudding, not too dissimilar to a panna cotta but fluffier and less silky in texture. However, the flavours - wow the sweet vanilla with a tint of rose water, it was truly heaven and I haven't felt that way about any dessert for years! Garnished with chopped pistachios, this was for me the surprise star of the meal! Followed by strong and fragrant Arabic coffee, it was a fantastic end to a great dining experience. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, and I thought the decor, lighting and music was just perfect for the place. I highly recommend this place - it's small and relaxed and deserves attention. I hope it keeps these high standards up as I definitely want to come back and try the other offerings (and the Muhallebia again!).”

Yara Restaurant
● Open“We stopped in here for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding and had we had more time we would have kept chatting with our server. This was made perfect by the quality and taste of the 3 dishes we had. The Babaghanouj, Bourak and Maklubeh were outstanding! We’d never had the 2 last dishes and loved the flavor. If we every get back to Altrincham this will definitely be our first stop.”

Cineworld Cinema - Warrington
● Open“This is only the second time I've visited this particular Cineworld as it's a little further afield than my local ones but in this instance it was the best one to visit given the times of the film I came to see. It's very easy to find for starters and I have to say that the seats are the most comfortable I've sat in at a cinema! Throw in the parking validation so that you get free parking and it's a winner all round! I'll definitely visit again (and again!)”

Heaton Park
● Closed“Went on a windy cold January day and the park was magnificent!!! It’s only 4 miles from Manchester and on a clear day you can see the Mancunian towers and buildings from the hilltops. There’s a tram stop just beside it so very easy to go to. Wasn’t too crowded at all probably because of the wind. The animals were out and about enjoying the little sun they could find. The gardens are well kept. Some of the food stalls were closed but the cafe and pub were both open for food and drinks”

Astley Park
● OpenPark Road, Chorley PR7 1RF, United Kingdom“Fantastic park. Well-maintained, excellent facilities, onsite cafe & great wine/farm shop. Suitable for all ages. Woodland, open green spaces and a gorgeous lake with water fountain. This park has it all. Astley Hall is also a beautiful building and looks amazing after the refurb. We had a great night for the fireworks (pictures attached)...a little muddy under foot but that's expected after a wet week. A brilliant urban park.”
