Royal Oak
● Closed“Had a lovely home made meal at the Royal Oak Hotel. Myself and my mum had the fish and chips and it was lovely. All freshly battered in the kitchen. I'm so happy they serve gluten free battered fish because it's so hard to find some where that does a good tasty range of gluten free food. My little boy also loved the chicken nuggets made with proper chicken pieces. The landlord and landlady are so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend a visit to this pub”

Warrington Quasar
● Open“We had our child’s party at Warrington Quasar today and are absolutely delighted with what they offered. Everything was covered, 2 games, party food, party bags - but the biggest thing was how well organised and well run. It was a dream. The kids had a ball, the grown ups didn’t have to do a thing, everyone came out happy, smiling and there was lots of laughter in-between. The best games of laser tag and a great space to catch the other team. Little touches, like a grabbing machine where everyone wins a prize, colouring books for younger visitors, staff who know how to get the balance of excitement rather than just chaos. Absolutely fabulous, we’ll definitely be back”

Kiddisaurus Play Barn
● Closed“Just the most gorgeous little place and on my doorstep too!!! Googled more local play areas to take my grandson to and when this popped up I was a little doubtful as my experience of pubs with play areas has never really been good. How wrong could I be! Firstly the staff were so chatty and friendly and acted like they actually loved what they do. It was super clean with great coffee and as for the passion fruit cake well..... Mary Berry move over! We will be back. My grandson absolutely loved it to and he was 3 1/2”

Vue Entertainment
● Closed“Someone was sick all over the stairs next to us while we watched avatar yesterday. I went to report it and the young lad and girl working there came straight away to sort it. They were very efficient and attentive at cleaning it up, while being careful not to disturb people. They were friendly, hardworking and certainly don't get paid enough to clean other people's sick up! They deserve to be recognised for their hard work... so please can you thank them for us, as we would have had to leave the film otherwise!”

New Century

Hopwood Woods

Lovely walk through the trees by the river, then up around the water works onto farmland where you may see deer. Then around the wonderful wild glade woods and back again. Saw lots of Wrens, Robins, Finches, Nuthatch etc. The usual suspects. Looks nice and clean, mostly.”

Bruntwood Park
● Open“A wonderful park...BMX track which we enjoyed watching people use, different areas of the park including an area with sandpit, swings, slides, climbing apparatus, a zip line that was unfortunately broken, a small pond with ducks and a fantastic interactive game with silver poles that had built in touch screen games such as 2 people one is red one is blue and when your colour lights up on pole you hit it to turn it off - never seen before and it was a huge hit!!”

Unico Lounge
● Open“We dropped by here for lunch arriving at 12 noon. Already this venue was popular but had plenty of seating to accommodate everyone. There were plenty of staff who were friendly knowledgable and created a good atmosphere. A real highlight from the kitchen was the Gluten Free Menu. It was extensive and included a gluten free version of the majority of the main menu. In addition to the GF menu there was a vegan menu and they also catered for those avoiding specific allergens. An excellent GF beer was also available. It was a real pleasure to eat & drink here and we will be visiting again soon.”

Dunwood Park
● OpenSmallbrook Road, Shaw, Oldham OL2 7UQ, United Kingdom“The park is so quiet and peaceful. For those who haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. It has a short maze for kids to go through, a play area and a rock climbing area too. It has a Café and a small garden that you can look in to. I used to work there and we thought of many ideas. We wanted to open it up as a public place which I tried to do by inviting people in when I was there working, but now, it's like it's a bit forgotten... I don't know if the people who have access to it are still working on it or not, but it would be great if they are, because maybe after Covid, we could get together again and see how we can re-do it. I had some quite good ideas, and I think that if we start to work there again, we can see if we can open it up as a nice place for absolutely everyone, maybe mine the other people who working there ideas can still work out. Thank you for reading this review on Dunwood Park.”

Vernon Park
● Open91 Turncroft Lane, Stockport SK1 4AR, United Kingdom“Spent a pleasant hour wandering through the park whilst waiting for a friend who had gone for a run. Classic Victorian/Edwardian layout and full of interesting features, trees and plants. Not to be missed!”
-
Poynton Park
● Open“This is a lovely park, not massive but very well kept with a couple of car park options if driving to it. The park has a lake which can be walked round, and grassland which when we went had sheep and lambs wandering around. Its a nice area, if you are expecting a long walk however, you'll probably need somewhere much bigger - but great if you have small people or just need to take dog out for a stretch of the legs!”
