“After moving to The Heatons we struggled to find a good Indian takeout/ restaurant until we discovered Bay Leaf. It's all fresh and cooked to order and not to greasy, so no bloated stomachs the next day. The staff are wonderful and friendly too. “Very nice place to have a few drinks and some delicious pub food reasonably priced. The Botanist is beautifully decorated, the cocktails and selection of drinks is is impressive. I really enjoyed my halloumi hanging kebab and sweet chili fries. The staff is very approachable and attentive. Special thanks to our waiter Sam who kindly made sure that we were happy and well attended at all times. Will go back :)”

“Had an excellent stay here. Staff were welcoming and friendly even though I checked in in the middle of the night. Room was large and comfortable. Free parking was available as well as a free electric car charger which was a bonus. Overall would definitely recommend and will return in the future.”

“Reading the other recent reviews here, I can understand the general comments. We waited about 20 minutes for our drinks, but nothing else went wrong at all. The food we ate was first class, we all finished the lot! We were served by a man with glasses called Will. He literally didn't stop in the 2 hours we were there. He was so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. He clearly understands his job role. Unfortunately the other staff members didn't seem as switched on. In my opinion of course. So for Will's first class service, as well as the exceptional food, 5 stars. We just hope it isn't Will's day off when we return!”

“After having a very very cold bus trip for 4h this restaurant was our salvation. From the outside one does not know what to expect, but once the door was opened we really got surprised. The warm and nice atmosphere inside made us enjoy the delicious lunch even more. The Spätzle tasted truly authentic, but at the same time had a touch of originality. We strongly recommend the Spätzle “Guanciale” (sadly not on the photos), which are a beautiful mix of different countries traditional plates. All in all this restaurant is something different and offers a nice variation of very interesting dishes and drinks. We strongly recommend it :)”

“Love this place!! Hard to say which one is my favourite coz they all tasted so good. The Deshi breakfast is one of the top favourites as it so traditional - spices and portion is bang on! The Naga Fries are a MUST - couldn’t stop eating them even though I was full. The desserts are unbelievable - never heard of a place that does a Gulab Jamun Éclair - AMAZING!! “Was recommended this place years back when a student living in Manchester and loved their curries. Lived in many other cities due to jobs but relocated to the North West about 15 years ago and was delighted to see my old haunt was still going strong and run by the same family who treated me like a log lost friend when I popped in for a take away. I've now got my OH and the kids to enjoy the delights of this gem of a take away. My personal favourite chicken madras and naan bread but we've not had a poor dish from there. My kids love the korma and tikka masala and we always try another dish as the OH doesn't have a particular favourite, as long as its curry from there he's happy. This place is a real treat for us, living 30 mins away we don't go weekly but it is the best Indian take away we've visited and our food is still piping hot when we get home so its well worth the trek. The owners are a lovely family and always make you feel welcome, their food is amazingly good I cannot rate them highly enough.”
