“I have used Autotechnic since I moved to the area 6 years ago. Coincidentally, we own 2 Audi’s and having a German car specialist on our doorstep was way too good an opportunity to turn down so we gave them a go. What we didn’t realise at the time was that Steve & Andy run such a top garage and we have not been anywhere else since. We use them for all servicing and all repairs for our cars, I actually rate them better than the Audi garages. They are really knowledgeable and have the diagnostic equipment required for Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Mini’s. They also undercut the dealership garages so the work is always great value. Above all, they are so honest and care about their customers & community - on numerous occasions I’ve personally had them take care of an issue that turned out to be minor and they have refused to take any money. A top group of people - I highly recommend.”

“By chance I discovered this recently opened little gem of a cafe in Hale Village adjacent to the railway station. This cafe is on the second floor above an art gallery and is immaculately clean and simply but tastefully decorated. Very polite and attentive staff with a good selection of nicely cooked food and drinks at very reasonable prices. It is an ideal location to relax and meet your friends for a coffee or a light meal throughout the day.”

They more or less managed the whole thing. They went over and above what you would expect from an agent, even putting out flowers to brighten up an otherwise empty house for viewings, and obtaining meter readings on our behalf. “My teenage daughter dislocated her knee cap and damaged her ACL. She is a keen dancer who would like to have a career in dance, so it was imperative that she had a good physio programme to aid her recovery. Her injury occurred just before the Covid19 lockdown, and so all sessions bar one, were done online. Ian was a great support to her (and to me!) and was reassuring and positive while making sure she was working hard at making her knee and the area around it stronger. The online sessions worked well and Ian would email us with with a different programme each week, tailored to her needs. Although my daughter’s injury has now fully healed, Ian also gave her good advice on injury prevention and set her an ongoing programme in this regard. My daughter’s recovery has been incredible and I would highly recommend Ian.”

“For local residents: the pharmacy located at Shay Lane Medical Centre is now closed, and it appears to have relocated where Lloyds Pharmacy used to be on Hale Road, opposite Booths (it's the same staff, and you can still get your repeat prescriptions arranged through them). The opening times are unfortunately not as generous as the previous ones, when adjacent to the medical centre: I often thought that it never closed!”

“Manjunath is a miracle worker! I have been experiencing pain in my right shoulder for months. Had been to another physio with no success. In just one visit with Manjunath, he reduced the pain and I experienced much more, pain free, movement in my shoulder. He is thorough, explained everything to me about my problem and knew exactly where to work and how to work on it. Cannot recommend him and his team highly enough!!!”

“I'd initially booked a two week jaunt to South Africa for my Dads 60th and after months of uncertainty we got the call that it couldn't go ahead. Despite this, Black Opal had stayed in touch throughout the entire experience, reassuring us that they would do everything in their power to make it happen. Alas, it was out of their hands. Black Opal quickly arranged an alternative trip to Murrayfield to at least watch the Lions on home soil and what a day it was, we saw all of the players board the buses prior to playing and a stellar 3 course meal with guest speakers. We had great seats and the atmosphere was as good as we could of expected. Black Opal accommodated a payment method they did not previously accept for me to pay for the entire trip and we got great rates for the initial trip to South Africa and the revised trip to Edinburgh. I'd not used a travel operator before, but I can assure you reading this and Black Opal I do not intend to go elsewhere ever again for sports excursions. Special mention to Ben Collis for the initial handling of my enquiry but my utmost thanks and appreciation goes to Kathryn Morris who was instrumental in the handling of our initial trip when it was in limbo and arranging our trip to Edinburgh. I cannot recommend this group enough.”
