Cultural experience in Oldham

“We were driving through Uppermill and stopped for a look around. We listened to the Brass band playing outside the Legion, popped into a few of the shops, bought some wares and on route back to the car park stepped into the Hare & Hounds. It was quieter than the other pubs we had passed, the combination of old look furniture and new look paint work still leaves the impression with a pleasant nostalgic feel to the past. The two female bar staff were lovely and friendly, as were the locals we spoke to. Very pleased we dropped in on a whim, I hasten to add the driver had a lime and soda. Look forward to dropping by again.”

“Great venue for music, or in this case the Oldham beer festival. With over 60 beers, ciders and wine to sample. Plenty of seating. Could have done with some music playing.”

“Spent a lovely weekend here. Loved the shop. Jams, fresh milk and butter, Weather was on our side. Views was fab. The wet rooms was reasonably clean. Had a free bird show from a man flying his bird. The owner did say I could go over to him to see the bird, but I was in the middle of our dinner. You can hear a little road noise but that didn't put us off. We will return sometime soon. There is an adult only area but I prefer the main field. Love seeing family happy when their camping. .”

“Best Chinese we have tastest in a while our new go to Chinese the chow Mein for me personally was the best and only chow mein I have enjoyed they had thin noodles and I would ask for the egg noodles to try next time but nothing wrong with the thin ones at all. The salt and pepper ribs where meaty and very flavoury again the best ones I have tasted The chips where good and the curry was also nice The thing that made the whole service 5 stars was the Chippy closed at 10pm we ordered for pick up at 10:55 and they stayed open till 10:10 which is fabulous customer service. Would definitely recommend thank you so much!!”

“The chinese takeaway serves 'broiled' chicken with its meals...just like every other takeaway. I personally can't stand the stuff...the taste...the texture. However, where DI Lans excels is with their special chicken curry. You get what seems to be proper pieces of diced roast chicken, then it's topped with an omelette & pineapple slice. Excellent. Then they do roast chicken with beansprouts & barbecue sauce...again not only is the chicken roasted, but you get a full half of breast which is sliced. Personally not too keen on the combination of chicken with bbq sauce but they MAY offer an alternative sauce if requested..they once did afterall fulfill a request of mine to put an omelette on top of my special fried rice! (With extra fee of course). Top marks!”

“First time here, I enjoyed myself very much will go back again. Went for my 32nd birthday with family and we enjoyed it there, had a good laugh with each other and the staff. The place is amazing, very clean and eye catching. The staff are very nice, friendly and can have a laugh with them. “I always get asian style from century city. S12 or s10. When Mai left the food went slightly downhill. Now that she is back the food tastes exactly how I like it. Their secret recipe is something else. Its addictive. They are a 5* with Mai as head chef.”

“A new sister cafe to Caffè Grande Abaco just over the road, Veloce is clearly the place to go now for takeaway coffee and snacks. There's all the usual delicious range of pastries, sandwiches, ice cream, toasties, and coffees - and the service is even quicker since it's dedicated to takeaway only.”

“We use Be You Stylinh all the time … her salon is located in the heart of Uppermill , so convenient and with parking . We both Love having lashes and nails … also had a facial and she’s given me some great advice over lockdown on my skin . Also had my first ever arm pit wax … and that was a hit… the studio is beautiful and relaxing and Sonia is such a professional, fab experience each time .”
