“Well what can I say about these two little old love birds eh? This couple have had this Chinese for what must be 40 year at least. I remember when the counter was on your left as you walked in and the pair of them don't seam to have changed a bit! He does good salt n pepper spare ribs and if you ask the old fella for something specific he'll give you his version. She's never been the best at English so for best results ask for the captain and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I like a portion of dabs there. They're not to big and not to small and are a real treat. Hopefully this place will live on but I've never seen them with children? If this little Chinese relic ever comes to a close it will be the end of a oriental era. God bless them both.”

“Update: ordered from here several times the last few months and every time the food has been great and it's always arrived hot I'm a fussy eater and I can reccomend this restaurant! Always big portions, I've had loads of different starters and mains and they've always been really good. Arrive hot, loads of meat in dishes too. Tried this place for the first time last night was a bit reluctant because of the bad reviews but it was very good. I got some starters and the Singapore vermicelli and curry sauce which was very tasty, not very spicy (which I was very happy about) and everything was hot. Easy way to order from their website too. Would order from here again!”

“How these guys have such a low star rating is beyond me?? First time we tried them was Christmas Eve and it did take longer than expected to arrive, but it was Christmas Eve so that's understandable. Food arrived hot and was really delicious, they are so different to the other Chinese takeaways and restaurants around and definitely have their own flavour (spicy salt and pepper seasoning, but this is honestly great if you like that moreish spice level). Second time there was one item missing from our order (nothing major, just seaweed, but my partner loves it) and when I called they said they would be unable to come out as they were rammed. About 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door and they had taken the time to drive out and deliver a single box of seaweed (very happy girlfriend). It would be easy to see little faults and give a low rating, but the reason I rate so highly is because they make every effort to give the best service they can and they are obviously popular and busy, its just a shame more people aren't coming on to give these guys a good rating. If you're not sure about these guys because of the rating I say try them and you'll be pleasantly surprised, if you don't like it then maybe consider its just not your style rather than putting a one star rating, they have great food and they really put the effort in!”

“I think the rating of this restaurant on Google is absurd, and reaffirms that people only ever leave bad reviews. Our experience with this Chinese is pretty consistently 9/10. Portion sizes - Brilliant. Food Freshness/Taste - Brilliant. Service - Brilliant. Overall value - Great. The Salt & Pepper chefs box, chow mein, chicken satay, special curry and chicken wing menu items never let us down . We have tried other Chinese restaurants in the area and always find ourselves quickly regretting not ordering from here at No. 1.”

“Ordered here several times. Food was absolutely amazing. Went to pick up once and was unbelievable how busy they were. They had like 12 orders in on the rack. They tried getting the food out to me as fast as possible and the women gave me extra for a short wait. Would recommend to pick up as it's more fresh but delivery was really fast even though it was a Friday night. Would definitely come again”

“Lovely restaurant and owners! We went here for the first time tonight on the spare of the moment and we weren't disappointed. Warm welcome on our arrival, table available in the bright and well appointed restaurant. Good menu choice options for meals and smaller plates and the owner took the time too talk us through options. The food was really tasty, well presented and quick to serve. Great service throughout and I will come back again and do recommend. The place has only been open for a few months so far but is already offering great food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
