Charming atmosphere in Wilmslow

“I contacted Chelsea Flowers in Wilmslow for my mother whose brother had passed away and we wanted to order flowers from his family in Australia. We are all Scottish and so mum really wanted authentic Scottish Thistles and a wild countryside look to the Spray. Kat who worked there provided some great options but alas no real thistles were available from the markets...so using her initiative she mentioned that where she went running there maybe some wild thistles and she would check. Indeed she found some when nobody else could and managed to arrange them beautifully with passion and flare, not to mention personally delivering them for us. My mother and family delighted and they did us proud on the day of the service. Huge thank you 'above and beyond' and stunning arrangement at that. Shirley”

“My husband and I drove for 4 hours to try out Loaf sofas and it was very worthwhile journey. The staff immediately offered us a welcome bottle of chilled water, they let us browse but were attentive when we had questions, they were very generous with their time but with absolutely no hard sell and they were very knowledgeable about the products. We returned home very content with the sofa, armchair and chaise we have chosen and we look forward to seeing them in our new home. “This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, enchanting hotel. The 400 year old building is very comfy and warm. An extremely relaxing environment. A fairytale feeling to the aptly named Wizards retreat. Welcomed by the owner Ian and introduced to the area, given plenty of ideas for eating and day out opportunities. The suite (Merlin Suite) was extremely comfortable, warm and a delightful place to stay. Cake, biscuits, teas and coffees and toiletries all included and of a high quality. Just an absolutely delightful stay which we plan to repeat to experience one of the other suites there.”

“This was a random stop to try the pizza since I was in the area. Every Italian shall be judged by their Margherita pizza and they passed very well, wood fired pizza done in less than 5 minutes like the waiter claimed. Tasted very fresh and the size was 12" so good value for the money. The crust of the bread or dough was not so airy but didn't taste chewy either. See photos attached.”

“Popped in here yesterday, Saturday. Busy. I chose the veggie pizza with my favourite veg, aubergene. It was, ABSOLUTELY SUPERB, CRISP AND DELICIOUS. THE NICEST PIZZA EVER tasted in my life, and I'm 56! Recommend to book. Staff really really friendly n nice.”

“Had breakfast at The Cow Café on a cold and rainy January morning, this place has a real authentic local café feeling, the staff are warm and welcoming and the food is superb. Kelly, one of the waiting staff made a superb cappuccino, one of the nicest I've had! Would definitely recommend calling into The Cow Café if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed. “Back to the way pubs used to be, there was a real sense of welcome on arrival, and also a lot of looks from the locals as I was a new face. I instantly got talking to the guy on the stool next to me followed by another local who also seemed keen to socialise. Quite a few in the big room watching football, a few people to the sides reading books and the papers. The fact its attached to a restaurant lends itself to staying for that extra drink, and taking a meal home to appease the wife! Really nice bar and environment, it's back to how pubs used to be, makes a really refreshing change.”

Always beautifully prepared, stone fire cooked pizzas and they have a twist on the dough balls to what looks like a square pizza and then you take a closer look and its Nutella and biscoff wrapped in dough and cooked throughout. Absolutely gorgeous. Such lovely staff.”

“The food is always good quality, it seems to have become a little bit more expensive than our last visit. £15 a Tandoori Mixed grill, mains around £13 with rice extra. The staff were helpful and attentive and alcohol prices reasonable for a restaurant. Top marks for getting the No Fresh Coriander right and for pointing out that one of the relishes had coriander leaves in it. Prices still the same, so relatively cheaper! Still the same quality and friendly staff.”

“Recently visited The Deanwater for a Business Meeting. A beautiful venue with plenty of space, lovely food and friendly staff. Plenty of space in the meeting suites, could of just done with access to a few more plugs for the laptops but on the whole would definitely return.”
