“After a recommendation from my daughter I booked The Cottage. What a wonderful find. Great place to stay so clean and comfortable. Lovely woodfire makes it so cosy. Accommodation is great. The bedroom is very comfortable and you can see the stars when in bed. There is also a single room with twin beds. The garden is lovely my two dogs loved it and I knew they were safe as it is well fenced. Lovely walks round the area. After my weeks stay I felt so relaxed and can't wait to go back. A great find.”

“I have read the review of James Hughes below. Thought I would add.. I was present when James entered the shop, helped himself to coffee without asking or being offered (I appreciate we’ve all been raised differently!) .. jumped the queue .. before announcing ‘the last barber messed my haircut up and I would like mine washing now’ .. I was in the seat near the window and I looked at the owner with an expression of ‘what the ***‘ absolutely amazed at his rudeness. Still.. they all treated him with respect. Amazed to see the review below ! I too have been going to this barbers since they opened. They are 100% top drawer. Absolutely professional, courteous and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. A credit to Glossop.”

“Have only visited here for breakfast. Has to be the best independent café, I have visited in Glossop. Staff are really friendly. Food is five star couldn’t ask for more. The only criticism I would have is there is not many tables, but it’s what I think makes unique.”

“This is the best barbers in Glossop, I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Lee and the lads are all really good barbers, it doesn’t matter who cuts your hair it’s always to the best standard possible. Everyone at the shop is really nice and host an incredible atmosphere. “This brewery outlet and restaurant has a pleasant green setting in Old Glossop with outdoor and indoor seating, helpful staff and imaginative options on the menu, including vegan and veggie ones - a lot of the options are light bites rather than full meals, and of course there are the various house beers. The pictured jerk chicken dish really was divine and as you can see also nicely presented. I liked the chef's dedication and enthusiasm. It's worth going to try some dishes that are a bit different, even if you're not big on beer. On that topic, I haven't the heart to deduct a star for it, but it is a shame that no alcohol-free beer is on offer, and secondly, I once ordered a home-brewed 'Hefeweizen' which is a German-style wheat beer cloudy with yeast in it, and it was served lukewarm. Being firstly German and secondly a refreshing summer drink this type of beer absolutely needs to be consumed properly chilled!”
