“Pleasant staff, food cooked quickly, so didn't have to wait long. Food was hot, tasted fresh, nice flavours and meat was nice (not that rubbery, water injected stuff). Can't every remember having a bad meal from here. Welldone Little China.”

“What an unexpected surprise! Spontaneously went for dinner on Saturday evening. They found us a table in the upstairs area which was lovely. Food was delicious and the service was attentive and helpful. We returned to the downstairs bar for cocktails. All the little details made it a lovely place and we had a wonderful evening. “I brought my Thai mum here and I am so glad I did! I could tell it was going to be good just from looking at the menu and photos, but wow, if you want delicious, authentic Thai food, this is the place. There are so many incredible dishes on the menu that you just can’t get in a lot of other Thai restaurants, I can’t wait to come back and try more already! We came pretty early, about 4 o clock, and we were there till 7 because we loved it so much and were chatting away with Chef May. It did start getting pretty busy after 6 though (even on a Wednesday), so I would definitely recommend booking ahead! I find it a bit ridiculous that people are complaining about the issue of the toilet being round the corner, it’s really not far and I noticed that other restaurants and businesses in Deansgate Mews also have their own toilets in the same block. It’s hardly a sacrifice to eat delicious Thai food in a cute, casual setting in my opinion, unless you have mobility issues, but hey, each to their own. I also disagree with the complaints I’ve seen about pricing, considering chef May’s prices are in line with every other Thai restaurant I’ve been to (and I’ve been to many), plus her food is tasty, excellent quality, and are generous portions too. Myself and my mum both got one of our favourite noodle dishes - Kuai Tiew Moo Nam Tok, and the portion was huge! I also highly recommend the tod maan pla (thai fishcakes). “Booked hotel through Secret Escapes for 2 nights.... more than exceeded our expectations. Friendly reception staff member on arrival together with concierge who took our luggage to our room . Lovely Riverside superior room spacious with all usual amenities. A very nice breakfast widechoice generous portions of food....again friendly service from restaurant staff. Great location short walk into centre of Manchester.. Well recommended.”

“Excellent. Hadn't booked, but managed to get us in after a 30 minute wait. Sat by 8.15pm, food served until 9.30pm which meant all the options didn't come round, so would recommend booking earlier. Nice veggie options, couldn't finish the tomato gnocchi. Would highly recommend, and recommend booking.”

“Loved the food, wow just wow. Everything was spot on and so delicious. Highly recommended the ribs as everyone loved these and they are like mini steak cubes but taste like really good ribs. Service was great always coming to top up drinks. Atmosphere was nice but a little too dark in booth and music so loud that's it was hard to talk to people on opposite end of table but other than that it was an incredible experience and the staff are very helpful”

“A bar worth visiting. If you enjoy a great view while you’re sipping on an amazing cocktail, you have to go here. The bartenders know their menu and they’re also extremely nice. We needed no reservation when we went there during a Sunday (midday). There where lots of seats available both inside and outside. One of my favourite parts was the live music, wow!”

“Such good food, many good vegetarian and meat options, the veggie cold meze is lovely and the meat meze super tasty The mains are perfectly sized, the lamb (adana kebab) is cooked to perfection with the flavours seeping throughout the dish, the grilled chicken (pilic kebab) had the perfect charred flavour. “First time at Akbar's today and I was very impressed! The food is very reasonably priced and the portion sizes cannot be grumbled at. Also, the giant "family naan" is a must have and definitely worth it - very tasty as well. The "Big un" challenge is very tasty and you get a lot of food for just under £15, definitely worth it! The food was very tasty and enjoyable, service was also quick and staff were friendly and helpful. Menu was quite extensive as well and has lots of options, vegans go elsewhere because none of your fake plant meat stuff is served here. Would definitely return. One bad thing I'd say is the size of the main eating area, it does seem to be rather cramped and the tables aren't that big either, because it's cramped there's basically people walking past your table the entire time, not the end of the world but when you're sat near a family of loud kids that decide to run around and knock into your table it does get annoying!”

“We had the garlic bread with cheese, margarita pizza, mixed salad, and truffle pecorino ravioli. Everything was delicious. The garlic bread is the same size as a pizza not really a starter so note that. The mixed salad was basically shredded lettuce and cucumbers with some onions; not that it was bad, but I would’ve expected at least some form of dressing to go with it. The ravioli was superb and one of the best we’ve had. Margherita pizza was great. Both pictured desserts were delicious. Food arrived promptly and well prepared. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Would recommend the place.”
