The islands were generously sold to the Maine Coast Heritage Trust in 2014 to be permanently conserved. The public has shown amazing support for the preservation of these islands, and they are now open for all to enjoy.

Visitors can access the preserve by following Route 130 south from Damariscotta, turning left on Route 32 in New Harbor, and continuing for about one mile. Parking is available along the shoulder of the road, but visitors are encouraged to show courtesy to neighbors and return another time if the parking area is full.
