Rachel Carson Preserve
The Rachel Carson Preserve, located at 150 Maine 32 in Bristol, Maine, United States, is a unique park that serves as a tidal pool and rocky shore that inspired Rachel Carson's book, The Edge of the Sea. The preserve also features a woodland area with blowdown trees, wetlands, streams, and even an upland pond that was dammed for ice harvesting. Parking is available along the shoulder of the road, but visitors are encouraged to show courtesy to neighbors and return another time if the parking area is full.
