University lakes environmental restoration in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

University Lakes is a school located at 1058 Stanford Avenue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. Our institution is dedicated to creating a more sustainable lakes system through ambitious environmental restoration efforts. These initiatives will not only enhance the ecological health of the area but also provide significant recreational value for the community of Baton Rouge. In addition to our focus on environmental restoration, University Lakes is also committed to making improvements to May Street and the weir underneath Stanford Ave. Our goal is to create new green spaces and shorelines using dredge material, which will be landscaped to form "living shorelines" that will continue to thrive and evolve over time. These living shorelines will serve as ideal habitats for wildlife and help to mitigate runoff before it reaches the lakes.
