Holiday Inn Metairie New Orleans, an IHG Hotel

"Honestly, the reviews about the room smells are correct. It's clearly a humidity problem coupled with the fact that they skimp on AC and circulation. A very mildew-y smell that likely points to mold within the walls. The south is *notorious* for business owners and landlords ignoring or lying about the realities of a high-humidity environment. I have had extended work at the Holiday Inns around Panama City as a musician, and this is low standards even for the Express chains. It's Red Roof Inn quality at best. In fact, this specific hotel seems to think it's achieved resort status, as evident by the prices. The restaurant had sub-par food sold for high prices. Oily sauces and dry, grey steaks. Also - who has the audacity to put 4 small fried shrimp on a Po Boy in NEW ORLEANS??? The owners should be ashamed - not of their employees, but themselves. The employees are clearly working very hard with whatever resources they're given. Skip out on this overpriced dump."

"I am going to be completely honest, after reading some of the negative reviews, I was a little concerned, but what I found was a very nice well maintained hotel. Newly refurbished rooms with a large tv, microwave, and dorm style refrigerator. A nice desk area with an abundance of 120 volt plugs as well as a large amount of usb charging ports. The bathroom was very clean and stocked with dove products. At check in I found the lobby area very clean with a fresh new look and the staff was very polite and helpful. Do not be afraid to book this location."

"Stayed for one week. Disappointed that the cleaning service didn’t come everyday. Also, the hotel looks way nicer in photos than in person. They put work into it but it can use more improvements. For the price we spent (almost $250 per night) we will be staying somewhere else next time we come to The Big Easy."

"If you love the smell of Marijuana almost as if someone is smoking it right in your room all night everynight this might be the place for you. If you love sweating cause the lack of air conditioning when you're trying to fall asleep then this is the place for you. If you love playing roulette with whether or not the elevator is going to malfunction then this is the place for you. I've stayed here multiple times over the past year each time hoping it would get better. It has not. I recommend going somewhere else for a more comfortable stay."

"This hotel has improved a lot. Many renovations have been completed. More are planned undoubtedly. The staff is friendly; however, another company manages the restaurant, and it is apparent. Rooms were very clean. Mine needed some paint on the door trim, but the rest of the room was new. I would definitely stay there again on business."
