"Almost anyone in New Orleans, over the age of fifty, probably remembers Pontchartrain Beach. Torn down in 1983, a few mementos still exists at Veterans Park. There are also several military items on display and the park is a very nice place to visit."
"Looking for a place to take 2 nephews while in the area and read reviews.( Not from the area). As I was reading I saw comments using the words "they should". I'd just like to say "they" is the city and tax funds are usually used for public FREE parks. I'm sure volunteers of the community would be greatly.appreciated and needed. Instead if what THEY need to do why not help. Form a group once or twice yearly and help keep YOUR PARK cleaed up . It did get nice reviews. Can't wait to visit there."
