Whipsnade Zoo
● Open“A great day out for couples! Plenty of space for a picnic or for a rest in general during sunny and warm days in between of walking around. Plenty to see- you need at least 8h to be able to see everything properly. I would suggest leaving early. There's plenty of free parking. There’s an option to convert your ticket to a membership for a low fee and then you can get more for your money if you like going to Zoo more then once a year.”

Indoor and outdoor exhibits so good for various weather conditions. We were very fortunate with the timing of our visit to the butterfly house as we got to see a butterfly emerging from it's chrysalis. Very educational.”

Exotic Explorers
● Open1 Kensington Road, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood CM15 9LG, United Kingdom“If you are looking for an unforgettable and unique birthday party experience, I can highly recommend Exotic Explorers. Julie and Hannah were highly knowledgeable, approachable, patient and friendly. The party was well structured, run smoothly and animals very well handled and relaxed. I would also love to praise the care that was taken to make them as comfortable as possible during the party - it was great to see all animals chilled and happy. Puri was very helpful and advised us on the right animals for the age group. (4-7yo). The booking and payment process were easy. Children (and parents!) were mesmerised and loved it.”

Willows Birds of Prey & Wildlife Trail
● ClosedMain Road, Knockholt, Sevenoaks TN14 7LJ, United Kingdom“My wife and I have just spent a very enjoyable day at the Willows birds of prey centre at Coolings Lifestyle, Knockholt, Kent. We did the one day, Introduction to Falconry course. In the morning we were instructed by Jill who went through a good selection of owls with us which we flew and handled. Jill was very knowledgeable and does indeed keep her own birds. After a light lunch which is included in the price of a ticket in the Coolings cafe, we then had an afternoon session with a keeper called Josh, who went through a lot of the birds of prey with us. Again a very knowledgeable chap who has been there quite a few years and also has birds of his own. We have been to willows before on a day ticket for a look to see what it was like before deciding to do the falconry course. In all a very enjoyable day for both myself and my wife and we would highly recommend this centre. We hope to go again next year. Thank you all, for a great day.”

Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation
● Closed“We were visiting from Texas and my mother in law planned a trip here because my 7 year old son is obsessed with Birds of Prey. This was one of the most amazing experiences we had while in England and life long memories my son will have. The grounds are immaculately kept up, the birds and all animals are well taken care of. They have meerkats, pigs, goats, lambs, and huskies along with so many birds. The bird experience was amazing and watching their keepers explain in detail about each one made it incredibly fascinating. We will visit again in the future 1000%. There is a little playground on site and plenty of parking space available. Also the drive to the Eagle Heights is a breathtakingly beautiful one. Gorgeous views and it is close to a small little village like town.”

-
Wingham Wildlife Park
● Closed“It's amazing how well this place has come along since it's early beginnings as a bird park. I haven't been here for about 7yrs and the additions they have made and are making are excellent. Disabled access is probably one of the best we have experienced at a zoo, although more disabled parking would be beneficial. The play areas are excellent, the staff and keepers are friendly and knowledgeable they obviously love their work. Pricing may seem a tad high for a small zoo but you can literally spend a whole day here so overall it's actually reasonable. Go, you will enjoy it.”

Bearded Pigs
● ClosedLondon NW1 4RY, United Kingdom“The London Zoos bearded pigs live in a lovely spacious enclosure in Tiger Territory in the Zoo. I have only seen them a few times, but you might get lucky as they are unpredictable. The bearded pigs enclosure is highly recommended in the Zoo, which is definitely worth a visit!”
-
Freightliners Farm
● Closed“Interesting little city farm. Great place for small kids, and even as an adult it was fun to have a look at the chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs, goats, pigs and cows. One of cows had decided to take a little walk outside of its stable and caused some commotion among the keepers, and a lot of sympathy from the kids :) A good place to spend half an hour away from the surrounding big city vibe and enjoy the view of a farm animal and a cup of tea.”
-
Hounslow Urban Farm
● Closed“Excellent cheap day out for the kids. The farm isn't massive but the range of activities and animals is impressive with live shows featuring birds, snakes and creepy crawlies. There is a small fair ground as well including bouncy castles and rides (though geared towards small children). You can't beat the price and my little one has just as much fun here as some of the more expensive options, such as Odds Farm, which in my opinion is overpriced.”
-
Cassiobury Farm and Fishery
● OpenRousebarn Lane, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth WD3 3GG, United Kingdom“I will always love this farm! Because it’s only open a handful of times a year and because it’s not in the most obvious of places it makes you feel like you’re in some sort of secret society and I love it. I love the fact you can buy feed for 50p and feed a great number of the animals in the farm yard. I also love the number of exotic animals they have for a farm in watford. They have raccoons, artic foxes and my favourites Capybara which is odd for a small farm in a city. I will continue to go to this farm every year for at least one of there open days and highly recommend it to anyone, old, young, family, couples, with young children and without. Everyone will love it.”
-
