“Fantastic little find. Descended on this gem with a double buggy and 4 hot and hangry children ranging from 1 to 14 years old. Staff were friendly, food was really yummy, and great prices. All 5 of us were fed and had sufficient drinks on £37! Service is not included on the bill so make sure to bring some change. Staff definitely deserve it!”

My family are from Corfu, Greece and I spent a lot of time there. The authentic flavours reminded me of being back! Beautiful decor and spotlessly clean (covid friendly). Plenty of Mediterranean food choices along with lovely wine & cocktails. We had complimentary pitta bread & tzatziki, grilled prawns with garlic, whole sea-bass and fillet of sea-bass! Generally the foibles of our group were catered for cheerfully. A good muscadet complemented chicken in three different guises and sweet and sour pork. Duck as a starter. Three course would have been too much for us.”

I did try a crafty cafe up the road last year who raised their prices somewhere between me ordering from the menu and having eaten a meal, since then I decided to stick to Star Cafe as they are honest. “A lovely clean bright family run restaurant,no paper napkins or table cloths here. Nice clean linen cover the tables with a bottle of spring water. The temptation to cut back over 30 years has been resisted. There's a comprehensive reasonable priced menu with unusual dishes I've never seen before. This make a refreshing change as other restaurants have cut back,simplified and restricted choice. The service was good with a complimentary drink offered. The food was good, meat portions on the small side but sufficient enough to fill me up Go your be splendidly surprised.”
