I ordered the Grant Close which came with 2 American style pancakes with fruit, cream and maple syrup on top, on the side there was avocado, halloumi, spinach and American style scrambled egg. I had curly fries on the side which were really nice too. My cappuccino was nice and creamy too but if you are a big coffee fan you might prefer a different place for your caffeine fix in the area. Wow, great texture, a satisfying bite but not at all rubbery, somehow with an almost charred flavour. Then that mash, with flavours something like garlic? Apple? I don't know and I'm not sure I want to know how the magic is done. Why spoil enjoyable mysteries? The risotto main is stunning, what a showpiece, also delicious. Took my time to enjoy it both visually and to dig out and eat the meats. All the flavours balanced. So light tasting, but so filling. (I am a little bit in love with that fish plate). ...but for desert somehow my stomach found space. Pear and ricotta cheesecake, maybe some subtle spice in there? Again wonderful textures, melting but also with an enjoyable chew. Lemoncello, made by them, gorgeous smell, clean refreshing taste. No sugary syrup. Very pleasantly surprised. I could never cook this good and I wouldn't dare try. My words don't do it justice either. I could go on. Best to just come back here. ASAP. Definitely, the best meal I have ever had. Pam is an amazing chef and we had a variety of dishes, all superb. My family wanted to take me to a fancy steak place but I chose Kaiteur Kitchen and what a brilliant choice that was. I might be biased but Guyanese cuisine has the most variety in the Caribbean (best tasting too - to do with the fusion of food of 6 different ethnic groups and being on the South American mainland) and Andrew and Pam reflect this in what they serve. It was like my mother’s cooking. Everything is made from scratch even the sauces and black pudding.I mustn’t forget to mention that they also serve El Dorado rum. Best rum in the world. The guys were really friendly and helpful. The cafe was clean and tidy. Ate my fry outside on the footpath at wee table provided. A good start to my day. Thanks guys . One downside....need to get some marmalade in for the toast!!”
