Stocker's Lake Nature Reserve
● Open7 Whitfield Way, Mill End, Rickmansworth WD3 8DP, United Kingdom“A pleasant walk around with many scenic views. Several hides along the south side. Worthwhile doing a small detour to see the Hanging Monkey.”
-
Hyde Park
● Closed“Excellent park! Huge, with lots of things to see and do. Lots of space available, in spite of its popularity and how busy it was, even on a weekday morning. Cycle paths (with bicycle hire available), picnic on the grass areas is possible, larger lake with many ducks, geese and swans. Horse riding tracks, and even a trough. Lots of little memorials and gardens dotted about. Cafes, with toilets, to rest and replenish at. I still have several more attractions and areas to explore there. A great place to relax and spend a few hours, or even pass the day. Whether it's by yourself, with a pet, a loved one, the family or friends. We were fortunate to have a great weather that morning. Ps. You might be lucky to catch the army training their soldiers to ride there some time like we did.”

Beddington Park
● Closed“This is possibly the best park in Greater London - great for dogs and active kids. Lots of wide open green space, woodland copses, tree-lined avenues, a small formal garden, a lake with ducks and geese, and the River Wandle flowing through (shallow enough for even small children to have safe fun). There's also a children's playground and cafe. It's everything I want from a park.”

Lavender Park
● Open“Nice clean park with benches, playground, soccer pitches and basketball courts. There is a paved path around the perimiter for running or walking. Lots of families visiting and BBQing with kids. If you fly kites this is a good place for it on a windy day, there is a bit of interference from houses but you can keep the kite up for a while.”

Mayesbrook Park North Lake
● OpenDagenham RM8 2HF, United Kingdom“View of the majestic lakes, instantly brings a seren calmness in your heart and make you very cheerful! One of the most beautiful parks in Barking & Dagenham with two very attractive lakes (South & North Lakes), large open space, leisure centre, car parks, children's play area, sports facilities, Woodlands, and Local Nature Reserve! And Mayes Brook River goes through the edge of the Mayesbrook Park! Across the southern side of the Mayesbrook Brook, magnificent Wildlife Goldmines such as South Lake, Nature Reserve and Woodland Trail are located! A perfect place for walking, jogging, running, relaxing and exploring for all family members! Water in the Mayesbrook Park North Lake seems like a teardrop-silver in colour and stand-still with occasional ripples created by waterfowl or leaves dropping from tree! Reflection of Skyline and Trees can be clearly visible on the lake water! There are plenty of natural sounds make this North Lake magical - cooings of pigeons, humming throbs of mute Swan, rustling leaves, mesmerising ripples in the lake and grass playing with the wind! Lakes are the homes many waterfowl including mute Swan, tufted Duck, Shoveler, Rock Dove (Feral Pigeon) and Herring Gull!”

Rickmansworth Aquadrome
● Closed“You can walk and walk and...... as long or short as you like. Around every corner there's something new. The walk along the canal is a total change to the paths around the lakes. Watch out for loose dogs, a big issue. Excellent free parking. Approach road to the car park is tricky. Turn left at the pub as the sign is virtually hidden. It's in the same road as Tesco. Cafe in the Park has yummy cakes but the wait is ........ too long at peak times so chill'ish. Enjoy”
