The Lord Nelson, Brentford
● Closed“A brilliantly friendly pub, with very welcoming staff. We had the best time on Christmas Eve with a large group of adults and children in their beautiful garden. Food was delicious, staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere was amazing. Can't wait to come back for more of the same, thank you all.”

The Brewery Tap, Brentford
● Closed“There are plenty of pubs round Brentford but we rarely go to any but our top two, Brewery Tap and Black Dog. The Tap is a really friendly local, superbly run by the lovely Annie. It's good place for a drink by the water in good weather and you can order excellent pizzas from Santa Maria as well as a good range of drinks. I really like the IPA and my wife finds the house red very palatable. The star attraction at the Tap is the music. Subject to Covid restrictions they often have bands playing there. Last night we really enjoyed Robert Hokum and the Great West Groove, playing bluesy music.”

Express Tavern
● Closed“It's a quintessential tavern that serves excellent food and a range of drinks. In addition to the indoor seating it boasts a lovely beer garden. Plus pets are welcome.”

Northumberland Arms
● Closed“I only go when there's music on, rock, it's loud, proud and you have fun. You can dance, good drink selection and the one person whose usually on, on music night is quick and efficient. You can also dine there but cannot comment as never eaten. The pub is clean and comfortable so even if you don't go for the music you'll be in comfortable surroundings.”

The Weir Bar
● Closed“Celebrated a special birthday here. Began with 2 for 1 cocktails - the Tuesday night offer. Wouldn’t make the same choice again. We ate Oysters and Padron Peppers to start, followed by sharing Chateaubriand with a bottle of red French wine. Amazing & why we will return! The waiter was pleasant and helpful. He allowed us to keep the table for the evening, so no rush to order food or leave when finished eating. From the outside, the place looks quite pretentious with a dress code sign on the inner door. Whatever ‘smart dress’ means, jeans with a tee shirt & a tracksuit were worn by others without any fuss. Christmas tree & decorations are up!”
