Theatre Royal Haymarket
“I really recommend the only fools and horses musical. Loved it and for some of the jokes you don't have to watch the show. So if you fancy a great theatre show but don't watch only fools and horses still go it is excellent. I have seen some people complain about legroom but where I was sat I had just enough room to move about and I was fine (I'm 6ft 2 so if you are smaller than that you will be perfectly fine, of course it depends on where you sit) Stunning theatre and you really do feel the history of the place. Which really made the show feel the little more special. The show, staff and location were all great.”
Erith Playhouse
“Saw American assassin's, it was great, absolutely fantastic show. The cast were brilliant and made the stories come alive and time fly.”
Savoy Theatre
“Came to the Savoy Theater tonight. It’s absolutely beautiful. The architecture, the balcony’s are amazing. You can see the stage from any seat and the best part the orchestra or the Stalls seating is raised by row so you can see. Saw Pretty Woman tonight and it was exceptional… so worth seeing.”
The Albert Memorial
“It is a very beautiful and fascinating building. While trying to get out of hyde park, I came across this incredible building. I had a very nice day at hyde park, and then when I came across this building, I was officially enthused. It is a very symbolic and artistic structure. There are many details in the work, every continent and every nation is mentioned. I was very bepended and examined it for a long time. It is a must see building.”
The Master Shipwright's House | The Shipwright
“If you manage to find your way into this magical space - dont hesitate! We spent an afternoon here thanks to the @NestCollective. This is one good reason to love London!”
Westferry Circus
“Nice public restrooms/toilet/washroom/water closet/bathroom, whatever it’s called.”
Graham Spicer Institute
“Has a high ceilinged badminton court, and a upstairs table tennis hall. Hall rental is reasonable per hour, which means most clubs can offer a reasonable cost to the players.”
Royal Holloway
“Beautiful university with historical buildings and wonderful atmosphere. Lots of nature too and generally a very thought-inspiring place to be.”
Queen Anne Court, University of Greenwich
“Who would not want to be a student in a setting like this?”
Southlands College, Roehampton
“Everybody should visit the Green Community in Roehampton”
Queen's College
“I can’t say enough positive things about Queen’s College. My daughter started this year and, after two challenging pandemic years and moving from her lovely neighbourhood pre-prep school to a “big school” I have been blown away at their pastoral care and genuine support and positivity. The headmaster is strong in vision but human and approachable. In a year that has seen the departures of incredible heads from very established London public schools, he remains very much in command of his ship. From the very first video tour (we weren’t able to visit in person due to COVID regs) where the he told us, with humour and self depreciation, that a recent graduate had been accepted to Oxbridge but selected a different university option “every Headmasters dream” to the first parents meeting when he addressed maybe 100+ of us with a tooth emergency and half-numbed face he handles challenges with aplomb. The parents are culturally diverse and kind - genuinely helpful to one another. The school’s central location draws families from all over London - which is also a huge positive for the girls! The girls get study-buddies and big sisters and have many opportunities to work together and meet people throughout the school. What better preparation is there for the world they will enter than to understand, appreciate and celebrate cultural and individual differences and similarities and knowing we are all in it together? My last worry about joining was the inaccessibility to sports grounds - a challenge with any central school - but Queen’s has done a great job of creating meaningful sporting opportunities for the girls with after school clubs and squads offering loads of chances to try something new or improve a skill and lots of exercise time. I’ve learned, over the years, that not every school is a fit for every child - and the school that you went to or your daughters best friend attends might not be right for you. And Queen’s won’t be right for everyone - but I have to say, if you judge a school by looking forward and not looking back Queen’s is , and Queen’s girls are, going places.”
Saracens Solicitors
“Claire Dunn is the greatest asset to Saracens Solicitors - her professionalism, rigour and understanding made all the difference as we were working on a complex house purchase. I am utterly impressed by how thorough her analysis was and how dynamic her approach was in solving through the purchase. I am indebted to her and she is an example of what excellence looks like. I am so proud to be in my home and so proud to have worked with Claire!”
Hawksmoor Guildhall
“Reunion diner with ex colleagues, what a treat. Plush surroundings and attentive staff. One of our party chose this restaurant as he loved the lobster, unfortunately on this visit it was off the menu; there goes "my initial" choice of surf & turf. I chose scallops to start and sea-bream to follow. The scallops were succulent and sweet and the bream was so expertly filleted that at first I thought it was the complete fish. The bill was a little eye-watering but this was a special occasion and we had a great time so it was worth it.”
Hawksmoor Spitalfields
“The best Sunday Roast you can get! Usual go to Air Street but came to Spitalfields instead. Exactly the same and just as good. Brought my own wine and paid £25 corkage! Will be back again!”
La Provence
“Excellent place, good price... full English breakfast filled me up for the day. The staff is very helpful”
Fox & Anchor Hotel
“It's been some years since I've been here and it was a pleasure to revisit this Farringdon gem. Lovely and cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our bangers and mash.”
St. Ermin's Hotel, Autograph Collection
“This is a lovely hotel. Centrally located, full of period features, and one of the best verandas in the city. High tea is available as well. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are amazing, even providing my godchildren with a welcome pack and a scavenger hunt. A very lovely place to stay.”
Pinner Memorial Park
“It is a beautiful park with plenty of open green field and trees. There is a well equipped playground for children with a lot of activities for the little ones. There is a pool with a fountain where ducks and other birds roam around, giving a peaceful vibe. There is also a separate garden, a well facilitated restaurant. Perfect place to have picnics.”
Gasholder Park
“Gorgeous! I stumbled here after a hard day of exploring the City. I found the huge metal structure fascinating and couldn't stop staring. The surrounding water also has a calming effect.”
Beddington Park
“This is possibly the best park in Greater London - great for dogs and active kids. Lots of wide open green space, woodland copses, tree-lined avenues, a small formal garden, a lake with ducks and geese, and the River Wandle flowing through (shallow enough for even small children to have safe fun). There's also a children's playground and cafe. It's everything I want from a park.”
Trent Park
“Lovely park for hot summary days or morning running. This park is huge with lots of trees or grass.”
Five Arches Bridge
“The sound of the falling river was music. I’m definitely coming back for picnics next summer.”
The Shaftesbury Theatre
“Inspiring show!! I took my sister for a birthday gift, and we both loved it. The show was funny, uplifting and we both left feeling really happy!!!! It was like 90s pop music was made for this show!!! The show was very diverse which I absolutely loved and appreciated, from race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, and way of life… a true representation of society and my family and peer group which I really connected with!! Thank you for such a great show, we were up and singing by the end!!! All performers were incredible but Juliet absolutely smashed it!!! Well done guys and thank you for an amazing show!!”
Gielgud Theatre
“We went recently to watch To Kill a Mockingbird Bird. It was an excellent production with outstanding performances by all. I was sat in the Grand Circle Row C, seat 2. I think it is always helpful to know the type of view you will get. It was partially obstructed. So we missed some of the action in the far corner. But the tickets were priced accordingly. We paid £30 each. For the ladies, there is a ladies bathroom very close to these seats, which is handy. But be warned, you need to be quick as there are only two cubicles. So it's either a long wait in the queue or a trek to find alternative facilities. We went on a very hot day, but the theatre itself was lovely and cool, and the bar served ice cold refreshments.”
Adelphi Theatre
“Watched Back To The Future The Musical on a Saturday night. We were sat on the right side of the dress circle at the front, when booking it says these seats have a restricted view because of a railing (which you might be able to see on the picture) but it didn’t restrict my view at all. The seats were comfy and they have booster cushions for smaller people. The toilets are quite small and there was a mad rush to them at the interval meaning a long queue. The musical itself was brilliant! The cast and staging/backdrop detail was great! I would highly recommend!”
Arts Theatre
“Great theatre (we saw "Six" there) with decent seating throughout. Staff was friendly, show was punctual, getting in and out was fairly easy. Close to the Leicester Square station (and not far from the Covent Garden one too).”
Cafe Beirut Ripley
“Since this lovely cafe opened I’ve been many times and always enjoyed a friendly welcome and yummy food and drinks. Today I tried to the full english breakfast which was delightful. All grilled not greasy and lovely produce great price too. I’d highly recommend.”
Cappadocia
“We visited on 11/2/23 Saturday late lunch 14:20 ish. There was a very warm welcome and a choice of seating for us and plenty more. The volume of customers was just right not too many and not empty despite the lateness of the time. I chose the Organic fillet of Salmon. Organic Salmon fillet pan fried in unsalted butter with crushed fresh herbs and white wine (optional), topped with roasted almond flakes served with sautéed spinach and roasted sweet potatoes. I didn’t recognise the sweet potatoes because they were white tasted just as good. It all tasted just as expected and I loved the sauce although I would have liked a little more. The salad had a lot of dressing so I would ask for no dressing next time. As we didn’t order a starter, we were offered some olives to keep us going as all the food is freshly cooked. My husband chose Adana Shoulder of lamb minced, blended with spices and herbs, char-grilled and served on lavash bread with bulgur, salad and sliced red onions. This was tasty but very spicy so he asked for a yogurt dip which made all the difference. (I don’t know it’s proper name). He also ordered chips which arrived (thermally) very hot. My only comment is that the plates could’ve been warm to keep the food warmer for longer. We don’t eat very quickly. The food came in good time. We didn’t have pudding as it was already a late lunch. A lovely complimentary square of sponge, soaked in something delicious like honey, arrived while we were waiting to pay. We had a lovely conversation with the waitress who was from Ukraine, and had been in the country several years. The menu is very extensive and each dish has a picture which is always helpful with such innovative looking food.”
Le Gothique
“Staying nearby and thought we'd try it. Had 3 course meals. Well presented and served, good vibe to the place. Had a drink in the bar afterwards. Very nice. Good beer SamBrookes Wandle. The guy who served us was very efficient/pleasant/attentive.”
The Amber Fort
“The best Indian restaurant I've ever been, they went the extra mile to make my boyfriends birthday meal extra special I cant thank them enough for the amazing service and food. Will definitely be going make there more often.”
