The Child Development Centre
“My son attended the Child Development Centre after we had exhausted all other avenues through the NHS and essentially got nowhere. I am not disparaging the NHS, I think they are marvellous but they do not have the time or resources to fully help our children the way they need help in these circumstances. We had the Centre recommended to us and it has really changed our lives. The relief that someone was finally making sense of our son's behaviour and difficulties that he was having was immense. He would jump and scream at unexpected noises, he would hate any labels in clothes, he would zoom around the house causing mayhem (not deliberately, quite the opposite he was very happy), but we did fear he had ADHD. He was like Tigger from Winnie the Poo, bouncing around everywhere! His concentration was very poor, he was very silly and immature for his age, he wasn't able to sit and watch a DVD, read a book or play with one toy or game for any period of time, he would get bored very easily and be off to play with another toy or game. From a very young age he would have obsessions - firstly the Fire Service and he would not anywhere unless in a full fireman's uniform with a utility belt, he was 4 yrs old at this stage and then it changed to the Police (5yrs old) and then the Army (8yrs old) with each obsession taking over all of our lives in one way or another. One fact we did find interesting was that Dyspraxia often gets misdiagnosed as ADHD. He was diagnosed as having Dyspraxia traits and audio dyslexia. We received a very detailed report which made so much sense in terms of why he was behaving the way he was, but more importantly we started the programme that would definitely change all of our lives for the better. The programme is not a quick fix solution. You need to be dedicated and understand there will be times when it is frustrating and it seems you are making no progress then other times when it accelerate and the changes are amazing. Most people comment that he is like a different boy now and he really is. Once we were able to get rid of the reflexes he had retained the changes became really noticeable. He is so much calmer now, he can concentrate - he reads so many books now which we are delighted at! The screaming when he's startled has stopped and he's even more tolerant to labels! In the beginning we did the on-line checklist on the website and ticked far too many! However, I would highly recommend doing this as it give you a really good idea on whether there is a problem there that needs solving. My husband and I had the conversation about the cost of the treatment and I remember him saying 'this could be the best money we've ever spent' and he was absolutely right, it was. I would highly recommend going for an initial assessment to find out all about it. We originally met David and then Alex continued all of the appointments and treatments with our son. He is excellent with children, very professional with a firm but easy-going manner. If you decide to do it, follow all of the instructions, they really do know what they are talking about and you will get better results by following them to the letter. The programmes are medication free which I loved, this is a totally natural way to help your child be the best they can be!”

Inclusive Multi Academy Trust
““Inspiring our children and community to be the very best that they can be!” As a Trustee I feel really privileged and proud to be involved in this journey. “Inclusive” is not only our name but core to everything we do to help our community fulfil the hopes and dreams of our children. Every day our 3 Watford primary schools – Beechfield, Cherry Tree and Laurance Haines work closely together to create great opportunities which inspire our pupils to learn and develop skills to adapt and succeed in our ever changing world. Each school is very much a part of the local community with its own distinct characteristics and curriculum –we don’t believe that one size fits all but a nurturing philosophy underlines everything we do. As part of a group of schools we provide opportunities for our children to participate and share in exciting projects across the schools – whether sporting, outdoors or creative - for example our art display in Watford Museum or the more recent song written and performed to celebrate and thank Covid-19 key workers. Supporting our people to succeed is a core belief and strength – we are lucky to include former pupils among our teaching staff! Working together enables the sharing and development of best practice whilst addressing workload too. Good career progression is available across the Trust schools. “if you want to go fast, go alone. “We‘ve just with great sadness pulled our two little ones out of this amazing kindergarten as we‘re moving house. The team are fantastic, highly trained, full of love and they put so much effort into filling the day with fun and learning for the little ones. I’d pick my kids up every day knowing they’d learnt something, got stuck into something messy in the big garden, had some great food and would have a big smile on their face when i turned up. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Get on the waiting list.”
Tadpoles Nursery School Kensington
“Excellent. I’m not usually given to posting reviews, nor have I been prompted, but I think good work should get recognised. My two year old daughter has seen a dramatic improvement in her communication and social skills since joining. Almost one on one attention, regular parent updates and a genuine focus on her development. She is counting, singing and very happy.”
Iverna Gardens Montessori
“My 5 children attended Iverna Gardens and as a consequence I was an 'Iverna Gardens Parents' for 10 years. I cannot find the words to describe how incredible Iverna has been for our family. My children are now aged 15 to 8 and there is not one day I miss not collecting one of them or dropping them at Iverna. I can definitely see on a day to day basis how my children have now become confident and independent learners, feeling safe to try new things, and to venture off the common path to take mesaured risks. Very importantly as well my children now all value friendship and kindness and I know for a fact that this is thanks to the environment in which they blossomed at Iverna, each of the 5 having their own nursery journey. The quality of the teachers was always incredible. The are all very approachable. It is a family run business and the atmosphere is extremely warm and welcoming also very genuine without fuss or pretention whatsover, which really mattered to me. At some point we had to move to Geneva, our children were temporarily in another nusery setting and the comparison cannot even be started. Before deciding on which nursery to go to for my first child, I had done extensive research in the whole areas of Kensington, Notting Hill, Chelsea and even Primrose Hill. What really drew me to Iverna was that the people there truly cared about the children. Yes they do apply Montessori approaches to learning and development - all the teachers are very well trained and knowledgeable - but a factor that makes the whole difference is that the nursery is run by incredibly emotionally smart people who take each child individually and ensure that each child travels through these formative first years happily and confidently.”
