“This Farm shop is just great. All of their produce is so lovely and tasty. My favourite are the TRADITIONAL PORK SAUSAGES. The staff are very very friendly, especially David the Boss. Don't mention GOLF to Terry though. He's a very good player. Oh and try some of the Jacobs Ladder, its lovely. Oven cook it in a casserole pot for about 3 hours on 160°”

“My wife and I recently found this restaurant on Bookable. We lived locally and wasn’t aware it even existed; we were not disappointed. We were greeted at the bar by smiley Waitress and offered a cocktail of the cocktail menu. They have just launched the Spring menu which looked really appetizing. I went for the salmon and the Lamb and my husband Risotto balls and the Hake, the food was well seasoned and very tasty. Just before we had finished the Chef came out and chatted to the tables which was nice, Barry or Baz as he asked to be called even told us he previously worked on the set of James Bond! After dinner we relaxed in the Bar, it was quiet but so cozy. We will return for our next date night.”

“Classic caf and more. Extensive menu with plenty of breakfast options including pancakes, egg benedict, halloumi, omelette (SO good somehow). Plenty of other mains to choose from and awesome milkshake. Staff is lovely, I've come many times with my 2yo and kids are definitely welcome here.”

“I like this place. Food is delicate and precise but the restaurant has a casual, industrial local vibe to it that makes it feel less stuffy than other places of that quality. The food is creative and wholesome enough to not be as uninspiring as the fine dining options of that usual standard. Staff were lovely. I enjoy the East London high ceilings and brick walls, and the way the light pours through the windows. More of a spring/summer location than winter though, as it is a bit airy and cold.”

“Very attractive upmarket venue. We had the arancini, focaccia, chicken Milanese, cacio e pepe and the lamb shoulder. The focaccia was very good. It came with a delicious dip. The arancini, although very tasty, they were quite small. The lamb shoulder was a 5 out of 5, not sure about the cold salsa verde! The dish that was served in was more of a pasta bowl and not quite a good match in my opinion. Desert, tiramisu and orange sorbetto was very good.”

“Lovely local Italian restaurant, very friendly service patiently explains and show me different amaro they have. Freshness of pasta caught our attention, truffle ravioli and wild boar tagliatelle are my favourites. Not to forget that exquisitely looking pot of Tiramisu, very inviting. Pricing is decent with a bottle of wine between 4 adults, we shared 3 desserts between us it came to around £40 each.”

“Lovely restaurant spread over different levels in a building next to the cathedral in St Albans approached through a small walkway. Parking in town can be difficult and pre booking your table is a good idea as the restaurant can be busy. The ambience is lovely. They have a good choice of vegetarian, vegan dishes, seafood, meats including steak and a great variety of desserts. We had fishcake, amazing baked aubergine and a mushroom stew, all excellent. The apple crumble and date and ginger pudding was delicious. The poached pear was average. Service was very friendly. There can be a wait between courses.”

“Wonderful brunch with friends here on Sunday. They have plenty of seating, some fantastic breakfast/brunch options and really speedy and friendly service. Coffee was also good so we were very impressed with our visit and will definitely return to check out the champagne brunch deal (any breakfast dish, glass of champagne and juice or coffee for £17.95) Tip- if you’re driving into town then it’s best to park at the Castle Street or Sydenham Road car park and wander down to the restaurant.”

“We loved Parsnips - smiley service and great coffee. The crepe menu has something for everyone - we went for a sweet and a savoury option, both were delicious and very generous in size. We'll definitely be back as the cakes and bread looked excellent too (in fact, we also bought a couple of the olive breadsticks - highly recommend).”

“Friendly service and an excellent almond milk cappuccino. Really sizable compared to more hipster locations but perfect foam and a “fruitier” espresso blend which was really nice. Lots of seating and not crowded on Saturday around noon. They also offer beans to go.”
