Al's Cafe
“Did I enjoy that breakfast? I did Guv! Guilty! Quality food and well cooked, Al's cafe is an oasis of edible delight. Small and narrow on the inside, could do with larger area. A cafe this narrow must do baggettes on their menu.”
Caffe Deniro
“This is by far the best value for money full English breakfast we tried in London. Just look at what you are getting for £7.5. I googled the place and it turned out well worth the walk from a hotel. Fast service, not crowded - relaxed and seems family owned. We’re now having breakfast here every day. Thank you!”
WatchHouse Tower Bridge
“Fantastic coffee! Great food and very cute location. It was a very busy Saturday so the service could have been better. There was a short queue to get a table, but definitely worth it.”
The Royal Oak
“Visited today for the first time and will certainly be back. It's a no nonsense pub that serves great beer and excellent food. I absolutely detest the endless array of revolting IPA's and craft lagers that have taken over so many pubs in the last few years. None of that rubbish here - I tried the dark Mild and black stout and both were excellent. I can also recommend the steak and ale pie which was full of tender meat in a rich gravy.”
Bermonds Locke, Tower Bridge
“Lovely room, fully equipped with kitchen and everything. Nice control over lighting to be created the right mood. Rest of building very stylish and good location to get around town.”
The Dixon, Tower Bridge, Autograph Collection
“After the first night of my first stay at this hotel, I have to tell you I'm really warming up to the property. Important to contrast, I usually visit London and stay on the north side of the Thames. This first overnight on the south and east side is proving to be very acceptable. Now about the Dixon in particular... I have seen several reviews site. A lack of hospitable service from the front desk and others that can be not farther from the truth in my initial check-in experience warm and welcoming staff not only expeditiously checked me in. Saw to an upgraded room and insisted on helping guide me to the elevator and overall very positive and endearing experience. The lobby as my included pictures demonstrate is outstanding. The integration of the historic property with modern touches is intriguing. And while I had initial concerns about noise level, given that my room faced immediately onto the major thoroughfare slept wonderfully. As of time of this writing, I have not utilized food and beverage on property. So I cannot speak to the level of performance of staff or robust quality of the dining experience. But I give this location a hardy five stars.”
Lord Nelson
“Amazing wild boar burgers. Perfectly seasoned chips. Generous portions. Nice, quirky atmosphere. Definitely one of the best burger places out there! ❤️”
The Hoxton, Southwark
“Shiny new hotel in a convenient but remarkably quiet location. While the ground floor is painfully hip in the evening, the rest of the building is very comfortable with excellent design. I was in a "snug" room which was perfectly adequate in size for a couple of nights, and indeed was bigger than some London hotel rooms I've been in. The bed was super comfortable and there were even a few interesting books in the room. Breakfast was excellent - freshly made and very tasty. Receiption staff were brilliant - friendly and efficient. Immediately stopping whatever they were doing to address the clients at the desk with a bg smile, something that many other hotels should learn from. I had a delicious cocktail in the rooftop restaurant, again with fantastic staff. Only request would be to remove or put the curtains to the side so we could enjoy the amazing view. Only off note was the ground-floor hostess looking around the almost empty restaurant/bar area at breakfast and telling me that guests are recommended to book tables for breakfast. There were at least sixty open covers, and I have never been told that by any of the many hotels in which I've stayed. I will definitely be returning as I really like this new entry to the London hotel scene.”
Franco Manca Bermondsey
“Fresh locally sourced ingredients. Dough and sauce made on site. Very reminiscent of Nepali pizza. Brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff. Pies come out quick too. I don't go out to eat but i may start. This place truly impressed me. Also they take great care preparing gluten free pizzas so there's no flour anywhere near it. Teaspoon is to give an idea of the size. Proper quality!”
Sushi Sashimi
“This place is very clean, and kept clean, the staff( 3 gentlemen) are very fast, and offering a attentive service. I ordered a Salmon & tuna poke bowl and they have done it very fast. The miso soup is great, especially if you are having a soar throat. Everything looks and taste delicious! They have a great Lunch deal and is a destination for Sushi in SOUTH LONDON!”
Wawa
“A spur of the moment (last minute!) 30th birthday treat. The sushi was fresh, perfectly portioned and so delicious! We did mention off hand that it was my boyfriend's birthday, and we were treated to a tasty chocolate cake with cream on the house. Would 100% recommend, we've been to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and the sushi is on par with meals we had in Japan!”
Viet Quan
“I love viet food and this is one of the most authentic and tastiest places for viet food in London. I live quite far away but im always willing to go out of my way to make the trip to Viet Quan! I even came here to celebrate my birthday! Customer service is also very good!”
Tacos Padre
“Surprisingly delicious. There was a line so I thought, hey why not give it a try. I had the lamb, chicken and beef tacos. Flavourful, juicy and filling. Great combination flavours.”
Asia Villa
“Best takeaway in this area Every item are vegan friendly And spicy chilly yaki udon supposed to be best food of this place”
Rosa's Thai Waterloo
“We passed through for some dinner before attending an event in Leake Street. The food was absolutely divine. We had the breadcrumb prawns, which were massive and super delicious. I had the pork dish, which was cooked with crunchy, green beans and chillies, and served with rice and a fried egg on top. A really good portion - I have a big appetite, and struggled to finish it. My daughter had tofu, served with green beans, chillis and noodles, also with an egg on top. Will definitely eat here again”
Maries Cafe
“Delicious dinner! Don’t miss this friendly family run institution if you are in the area. They do not have much room and queues often form after 18:00 but well worth the wait. Simple decor, seats, table and kitchen on view for most tables. There is a wide selection to choose from and all very reasonably priced. If you are looking for alcohol I believe it is BYOB. The food was all tasty, ingredients seemed fresh and oil used for frying was clean tasting. Two of us ate three starters, two mains (plus rice) and two desserts for £45.”
Kanchana's Kitchen
“The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely it was rather crowded after work hours and it certainly took me a minute to find the restaurant through the pub but it was definitely worth the effort I’m from the US and I live in California which has a lot of great Thai food and this place was surprisingly good. I had a great time everyone was very friendly and I had a wonderful chat with the person next to me at the counter, overall wonderful atmosphere and delicious food!”
Coconut
“This little takeaway is literally why I brave the commute into the office - because I know lovely lunch from here awaits”
Flavours of Naples
“Been meaning to try this place for ages. Popped past the place tonight and the food was absolutely amazing. Just returned from Italy and the food was on par/ if not better than some of the meals I had out there. Cozy restaurant and friendly pleasant staff. 10/10 would recommend”
Little Sicily Sicilian Street Food
“This is a fabulous restaurant with the kindest staff! We found ourselves stuck in Trafalgar Square last week with dead phones and no way to get back to our hotel near the airport. We stepped into their restaurant to calm down with a meal and glass of wine (which worked). On leaving, my daughter asked the lovely hostess if she could possibly let us use their wifi and charger so we could call an Uber. The hostess whipped out her own phone and called us a cab which arrived immediately. Thank you for saving our American butts and also for the meal, which was fantastic!”
Boro Bistro
“Amazing food, amazing decor, friendly and welcoming staff. The Margheritas are also absolutely divine! Had a lovely meal with a great atmosphere and we were very well cared for throughout. I will be visiting every time I'm in the area!”
Vivat Bacchus
“Lovely restaurant minutes away from London Bridge station. They offer a nice and varied menu focusing on meat and fish but they also have some vegetarian options. Nice wine list and we loved the cheese room! The staff is very welcoming and polite and service was quick and on point.”
Côte Hay's Galleria
“We had a wonderful time at Côte Hay’s Galleria. We got treated very well because we had a special day and asked for a nice table which they pleasantly helped us to get. Food was nice, service excellent. Price was good considering location. We had a great time!”
Santo Remedio - Cocina Mexicana
“Amazing, would highly recommend. For 2 people to share we had the vegetable, tuna, pork belly and the beans. Delicious food, would 100% recommend everyone who goes to try the SASHIMI TUNA!!!”
Brasserie Blanc - Southbank
“I really liked this place! Great modern decor, super friendly staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere, I ordered from the pre theatre meal and there was plenty of choice on this menu. Food came in a timely fashion, presented beautifully, and tasted scrumptious. The staff were super friendly and allowed you to take your time and enjoy your meal. Everything was served with a smile. There is good distance between tables so that you don't feel cramped, plenty of room to get buggys or wheelchairs through between tables. Toilets are on the same level as restaurant so very accessible. Would thoroughly recommend.”
Pique-Nique
“First time at Pique-Nique! It is a French restaurant in London standing nearby the park. The staffs are helpful! There are variety of food you can choose to eat. You can come here through train station and take a walk to the restaurant!”
Cafe del Marsh
“Best bar in Waterloo with an amazing and friendly owner and staff. The garden is a hidden gem and the drinks are great!”
The Kings Arms
“Nice and delicious food. We booked for 6 pax and shared food. I like the chicken wings the most! Will definitely re-visit again.”
Draughts - Waterloo
“I always have a fantastic time at Draughs! I love board games and own about 70 myself. They have a huge selection and can cater to both casual players and more serious gamers. Some games do need refreshing and the components are sticky. Some are missing parts. Despite that, it's definitely a great night out with friends. The chicken burger was unexpectedly good!”
Gaucho Tower Bridge
“My colleagues and I enjoyed an exceptional all inclusive brunch with an incredible selection of food and brunch-inspired cocktails. I must comment on the incredible view, amazing staff, and fantastic DJ. I was a bit worried that it would be rough getting the waiter's attention if things were busy, but was pleasantly surprised to see that there was hardly anyone there at the time, allowing us almost exclusive access to our waiter. I would DEFINITELY come back here. I put it on my top 3 dining experiences in London.”
