Royal Festival Hall
“What a fantastic historic London venue! To be honest I don’t think the buildings look from the outside (large concrete block) does it any justice. Inside it’s stunning and houses and the huge Festival Hall as well as big dance floor and event space. There is a large bar at ground level, as well as bars on each of the upper floors, including a top floor bar which has a balcony overlooking London and The Thames. I lovely spot for a drink before the concert. There are toilets on each of the floors (useful to know as there is often a long queue for the ground floor toilets at busy times)”
Everyman Crystal Palace
“Love love love this cinema. The food, atmosphere and seating is on point. You can order from their extensive menu to your seat (which are perfect for couples as they practically mini couches). I built my own sundae and they did not stoosh on the toppings and my partners drink was on par with a chic Central London bar for a decent price. Would definitely go again and highly recommend it for date night. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive as well.”
Erith Playhouse
“Saw American assassin's, it was great, absolutely fantastic show. The cast were brilliant and made the stories come alive and time fly.”
Harlow Playhouse
“Most recently saw Ukrainian State Opera here. It's a nice venue, staff are friendly and helpful. Good view from any seat in my experience, but best suited to performances where you sit and listen. Don't expect to get up and boogie - it's not that sort of venue. They have a second, much smaller performance area too, which is nice and intimate. Easy parking nearby in the multi-storey.”
Young Vic
“My favourite theatre in London! I've been plenty of times, I see most shows put on here without even reading about them because I trust them that much, I know if they are hosting it, it will be good! If you can get yourself a ticket, don't over think it and just go!”
Dawson School of Performing Arts
“My girls have been with DSPA for many years, they are not only learning dance and performance skills but learnning about commitment, discipline, dedication and much more. Thanks to Miss Elin and the dedicated teachers, they are growing up to be confident performers, thriving to be better each day.”
Pinner Memorial Park
“It is a beautiful park with plenty of open green field and trees. There is a well equipped playground for children with a lot of activities for the little ones. There is a pool with a fountain where ducks and other birds roam around, giving a peaceful vibe. There is also a separate garden, a well facilitated restaurant. Perfect place to have picnics.”
Gasholder Park
“Gorgeous! I stumbled here after a hard day of exploring the City. I found the huge metal structure fascinating and couldn't stop staring. The surrounding water also has a calming effect.”
BASE (PIZZA X DRINK)
“Great delicious pizza with reasonable price, VERY friendly staff. Highly recommended!”
500
“Great food and ambience. Quality dishes. Mario the Headchef puts so much thought and passion in his dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.”
Apna Indian Cuisine
“We love Apna! This is our go-to takeaway. We've tried most dishes on the "modern classics" menu and have enjoyed each one, but our favourite is the Gurkha's Revenge (lamb) and Pista Malai (chicken). They are always so friendly on the phone as well. I wish it was a restaurant because I would go in a flash. Thank you Apna team for consistently wonderful food!”
Prince Edward
“We stumbled upon this pub after visiting the arts factory up the road and it was a very welcoming atmosphere despite there being a big group of us. It's a nice mixture of ages here and is a friendly locals pub. My friend had a rather large boil on his neck which was popped at this very pub.”
Epsom Playhouse
“Its a quaint cosy theatre in the main run by volunteers who are very friendly & helpful. There is not a bad seat to be had..it was great being able to go to the panto with our family again this year & we are looking forward to seeing more performances throughout the year ahead”
ArtsEd
“Although it isn't cheap, ArtsEd musical theatre courses have been totally worth it. My 13 year old son happily goes every week and spends 3 hours (3 50 minute sessions with breaks) at Arts Ed on a Saturday morning with a dance, an acting, and a singing session. This term they performed Matilda and when I saw him perform I didn't recognise him. Everything had improved - acting, singing dancing, all of it. What's more, he really let himself go in a way he hadn't before and this can only be because of the encouragement and confidence given by his teachers.”
Cecil Hepworth Playhouse
“Always a must do when in Disney, food, especially fried chicken is some of the best at Disney and all the staff are entertaining. Remember to keep your elbows off the table tho!”
Hackney Empire
“The venue is a familiar place for Black cultural events going back many years. Home of the famous 291 club that launched the career of many Artists, this beautiful, ornate and historic building might not be in the heartlands of London's theatre land but is every bit worth a visit just for the unique experience.”
Hillingdon Court Park
“Lovely large greeny to walk to dog aswell as a big park for the kids, an adult gym they have tennis courts and bowls, nice bit of woodland and plenty of bushes to pick blackberries in season.”
Wapping Gardens
“Great garden in the heart of Wapping. Where parents, dog owners, tennis and football players can meet. With an nice little restaurant/ café and even some fitness equipments!”
Dartford Central Park
“Nice green space. Well kept formal beds with roses and bedding plants giving colourful displays. Even a wild flower area. Children's playground and splash area.”
Camer Park Country Park
“Not local to us, found it using Google when we were in the area, but what a great find for dog walking. Highly used by dog walkers, the majority of which are off lead, so felt really comfortable letting our 2 lurcher puppies off lead too. No-one complained when they went bounding up to their dogs to play, and such a vast open area, with woodland around the edges, which our dogs love. Numerous benches and bins all around the site. Lovely little cafe hut there too for us humans to get refreshments and chat to other people. Plus free parking, what more could you ask for. Highly recommend.”
Whitcomb’s
“This restaurant is within a hotel and the ambience within this restaurant is amazing! Very cosy and felt relaxing and comfortable. Ordered escargot for starter and it is one of the best French food that I can get in central London. The mains were divine! Lobster Thermidor was cooked into perfection and cheese just melt into your mouth. Loving the rib eye steak, medium rare juicy and tasty!! Definitely would recommend people to come here. Although the price of the food is on the higher end, however worth visiting.”
The White Horse
“There’s a lot to like In normal times, the pubs around Wembley stadium are perpetually heaving; the area’s a tourist destination behind is Wembley national stadium and opposite is Wembley Arena and Brent Council Office You can imagine during event days this place gets busy but I visited the place on non event day got served quickly at the bar was moderatly busy as one section of the place was hired for a private event bartenders and warm, knowledgeable and friendly staff. The White Horse has a sophisticated and modern take on a classic English pub with few normal sitting leather padded chairs and high sitting chairs ..I sat next to the coffee bar on a high end chair opposite the kitchen area where the staff was chucking away the glass bottles trying to make as much noice as possible of bottle breaking in the recycle bin Coat is classic pub price with wide range of bar snacks to select from. Definitely recommend to try it out as I will be going again to try some mains options and update the review”
The Kennington
“Really really good Sunday Roast! Good options to choose from, but I got the beef and it was great. Came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and veg. Good, classic dessert options too. The service was good and was able to make a reservation on the day. Overall would come back!”
Harrow Arts Centre
“Great night seeing Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime. Excellent singing, dancing and acting. Highly recommend.”
Eventim Apollo
“Fabulous Art Deco venue. Lots of staff and super large bar area. Even if you are standing go to the bar area on floor 1 it's much bigger with some seating. There are load of toilets too. There were no queues even for the Ladies! Auditorium fantastic and theater style seating. It's clean with not sticky flooring. The security sweep on entry was quick and unobtrusive by very helpful and friendly staff. I would highly recommend.”
Stratford Circus
“Great atmosphere. Plenty of space to have a coffee or work. I fear that a lot of visitors miss the great shows and classes available. Grab a leaflet or talk to a staff member when you are there for advice on new events.”
Hoxton Hall
“We have done a few event here now and the staff are faultless. So helpful and seem to be proud of their venue. The venue is a stunning space with lots of character. Pictured is just one of the events we have done here recently providing fairy lighting.”
Shrewsbury House Community Centre
“Lovely venue for the Woolwich Model Railway Show and the staff in both the Café and Bar were charming and friendly.”
