Church's London Jermyn St.

110 Jermyn Street, London SW1Y 6EE, United Kingdom

“Fabulous courteous old fashioned service- the way it should be! Helpful, polite and friendly, took the trouble to help us thoroughly, making sure we were happy with our purchase, the fit, style and colour of the shoes. Top quality all leather brogues, even offering a re soling service upon request. Assistant was extremely knowledgeable, measuring ones foot correctly and presenting different sizes without complaint. Not pretentious as some can be- made to feel welcome and valued. Extremely well made footwear , we are very pleased indeed and will return for further colours in the same style. Most comfortable well fitting shoes we have purchased for my sons awkward shaped feet! Very thoughtful assistant even polished them for us before expertly packing them in the stylish box. Five star service and products, well worth the money spent.”

“I have visited this elegant establishment on numerous occasions and have always found the staff to be polite and friendly and very knowledgeable about their products and I have even had a compliment on my mirror shine shoes from a staff member, which I will remember for a long time to come and I would bring my custom back here, any time of the day or week.”

155 Brompton Road, London SW3 1QP, United Kingdom

“Really traditional classy shoe retailer. Excellent quality and variety of traditional footwear and the staff and atmosphere are very welcoming. Staff are not aggressive or pushy at all...quite the opposite and very friendly and helpful...don’t understand any negative reviews. Just purchased my first pair of wing-tip brogues with rubber sole for winter-wear and the shoes scream quality and attention to detail. We need to preserve and support institutions like this...they are becoming rarer by the day.”

Tricker's

● Closed
67 Jermyn Street, London SW1Y 6NY, United Kingdom

“Tricker’s are known for their heavy country Brogues and boots. In that category they are without equal. One can tell they are built to last for a very long time. Should the sole need replacing, one can send them to their Northampton factory. It currently costs £150, I believe. What is interesting are the options one has: there are rubber soles in various colours and if one wants the pull tab on a boot to have a different colour to match the sole, then that’s also possible. And not to forget: everything is made in Northampton. Nothing is sent abroad as with some other brands. What needs to be considered is the cost per wear. There are cheaper shoes, but how long do they last? Can they be repaired and if so, on the original last? In the end it’s better to get a pair of Tricker’s :)”

“My favourite shoe and bookmaker. The process is long but well worth the wait. The store is an amazing place with a true atmosphere of history about it. The list of past and present clients are those who demand the best and are willing to pay for it as I am.”

“A wonderful experience! Required a suit, shirt, shoes and coat on short notice and the staff at Suitsupply, especially Abdul, were very helpful at making sure I got exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed by both the quality of the clothes and the quick turnaround on the necessary alterations! Couldn't have asked for anything better!”

Russell & Bromley Ltd.

● Closed
107 Long Acre, London WC2H 9QL, United Kingdom

“Although I did not buy anything today that's not because I did not like anything. It's because I could not justify buying more footwear and considering where I could store additional footwear! Always find good quality and stylish shoes here. Pricey but you know you are getting quality here and not the deteriorating quality of other high street brands such as Clark's and others. I guess the old adage is true that you get what you pay for. My favourite formal shoes are from here and some 12 years old. Still perfectly good for use though!”

Naot Natural Footwear Centre

1029 Finchley Road, London NW11 7ES, United Kingdom

“Excellent shoes, excellent service. They have a wide range of brands combining comfort and style really well at a variety of prices. Some of their shoes may be more expensive than average but more than repay that in quality and durability. A number of pairs of their shoes and sandals have been a joy to wear and have lasted for over 10 years. Thoroughly recommended.”

Grenson Bloomsbury

40 Lamb's Conduit Street, London WC1N 3LB, United Kingdom

“I had an unfortunate experience purchasing a pair of Grenson Boots from another online retailer, and James and the team at Grenson really went the distance to help out and get me a new pair of boots. I really appreciated all the effort they put in and I purchased a replacement pair from Grenson at this store. The quality was so good, I then even bought another pair! Thank you, I'm really happy with my new boots :)”

Robert Carder Shoes

● Closed
137-139 Lordship Lane, London SE22 8HX, United Kingdom

“Amazing stuff, caring and very patient, after experiencing shopping with my young 3 (one screaming toddler and two children running around + the family puppy). They made sure I was taking care of and helped me get my two eldest to sit and "paint" and my screaming toddler as settled as possible to measure and find two new pairs of shoes. Excellent customer service. Thank you once again for taking up the challenge of a very tricky toddler.”
