Indian Lounge

The menu is extensive, the food expertly prepared (moist chicken especially!) wonderful flavors and excellent-friendly service. Can't wait to return.”

The Cardamom Room
● Closed“Visited this evening for the first time with my husband and was pleased with the first impressions and ambience of the restaurant. We were seated and given clean, quality menus. We ordered a pina colada, ginger ale and 2 diet cokes. Regular cokes were brought out in error and were quickly substituted. The seating was comfortable and we were brought out a small table lamp which was a novel touch. We ordered aloo tikki for starters, which took a tad on the longer side to come out, but no big deal. Well presented and tasty. Mains we ordered, chicken tikka, handi murgh, butter naan, plain and saffron rice. The bread was soft and rice fluffy. Chicken tikka was cooked just right, nicely flavoured. Handi murgh was also good, particularly because I prefer thigh meat. The pina colada was really tasty, I would have preferred a piece of fresh pineapple as the garnish rather than the dried one personally. For dessert we wanted the almond kheer, but it was sadly finished, so we had the pistachio creme brulee and the date sponge with chai ice cream. The brulee was really good and I'd recommend it. The sponge was a bit dense for me, but the ice cream was great. We had this with karak chai, which was lovely. I felt all portion sizes were spot on. If you fancy a nice sit down meal where the service is excellent, I recommend trying The Cardamom Room. The service was top throughout our sitting. Regularly clearing dishes, wiping the table and checking we were happy without being intrusive.”

Banana Tree
● Closed“The service was great, the food (Chicken Pad Thai) was AMAZING and the lychee martini was good. Would totally recommend this place to anyone that wants to try a chicken pad Thai for the first time. The food is reasonably priced but the cocktails are a bit expensive considering there wasn't a lot of alcohol in it.”

Costa Coffee
● Open“My first time visiting this Costa store. Lovely and quiet with a friendly welcome. Two things I wanted weren't in stock, but with how friendly the ladies were i wasn't disappointed at all. I had a free drink voucher to use and I didnt know what was included. The woman happily explained it was all drinks (usually I get spoken down to when I ask something I don't understand, so this was very refreshing). Because of the lovely service I was happy to purchase something else to consume as I was more than happy to give costs my vustom, thanks to the help and service I recieved. A credit to your store (time of visit approx 11.20am) Thank you. Will love to visit again next time I'm down south”

Triple Two Coffee
● Open“I was recently searching for a quiet and cosy coffee shop to study in and came across this one. It did not disappoint. The lovely barista (Jazz) has offered great service both times I have been there. I am definitely going to be a regular from now. Today she was so sweet and even let me stay an extra 15 minutes after closing time after I told her I have a very important zoom meeting that I could not miss. Coffee is amazing, best vanilla lattes in Kingston, and the selection of pastries does not disappoint. Highly recommend! ;)”

The Coffee Lovers fl Cafe
● Open“Lovely Moroccan pancakes served sweet with honey or savory with falafel and houmous. The coffee is good and the teas are, of course, fantastic. Not usually too busy so it's possible to get a table most of the time. The owners are very friendly. Definitely the best brunch/lunch place in the area. Worth following it up with a pastry from Delicious (Brazilian bakery).”

The Old Red Lion
● Closed“Popped in for a Sunday roast and was very impressed! Staff really friendly and welcoming, and a good range of beers. Sitting by the window with the rain pouring down was cosy. I had roast pork belly which was a generous portion, tender and well seasoned. Really tasty gravy, and we were offered extra part way through demolishing our meals. A real contender for best roast locally alongside the Prince of Wales - I’ll certainly be back.”
-
The Rylston
● Closed“Ordered Sunday lunch for takeaway twice now and both times they have been absolutely fantastic. I am vegan and can be quite picky with nut roasts as they are often quite dry, but the one from the Rylston is perfect. Roast comes with all the trimmings, including fresh veg, roasties and most importantly Yorkshire puddings. Staff are all really friendly too! Would definitely recommend and will use the service again, thanks!”
-

The Waverley Arms
● Closed“This is a prized local so this might come across as biased, but it’s a great pub. The atmosphere is friendly, like a community and the food and drinks are decent! The staff are always, always, always lovely and accommodating. There was also a huge group for a party and they consisted of dogs, prams and children. So appreciate the staff’s flexibility and patience! Shout out to Douglas and Alex, who when we came in earlier, were juggling a lot of customers! Thank you”

The Plough
● Closed“Amazing local pub, we love visiting here - such friendly vibes and so cozy on a Sunday afternoon. Nice to watch the odd football match here too. The roasts are amazing and so is the ever changing menu. Yesterday I wasn't drinking and they gave me a pint of blackcurrant soda on the house - whereas in most other London pubs they'll charge you a couple of quid - I was chuffed!”
