Slightly disappointed with the item though as it turned out to be plastic (which wasn't stated in the spec) with a chrome-plated brass price tag. I would have happily paid for brass with chrome plating as I was looking for a quality item - hence the reason I chose to purchase from A&H Brass! In the end I swapped out the small bell-shaped pullcord handle for a solid brass, chrome plated handle, so only time will tell if the ceiling rose keeps its finish in a humid bathroom.”

I had searched numerous other hardware stores in south London for replacement nuts and bolts with quite specific thread pitch requirements for a home DIY project. Other stores had generic poor quality hardware with only a single thread pitch. The staff at Belton and Slade identified the correct specification for the hardware and had some in stock. They also had a wide range of tools and after discussing my project were able to sell me the right tools that made the job a lot easier. I only wish there were more hardware stores like this!
