“The perfect pub. It’s hidden on an empty street. The facade is charming and inviting. Inside, the noise is bustling, spaces are cramped yet you can find your own place into which to nestle. The drink menu is extensive although when in traditional pubs I lean heavy towards draft beer. The food menu is interesting - I ordered the steak & ale pie. It was very good. I loved the au jus. This place has loads of personality.”

They gave me a falafel wrap instead of a platter, but that can happen, and I wouldn't fuss about it. While we were waiting, they made me try falafel and gave me bread for free. The staff are welcoming, the food is absolutely fantastic (hot honey chicken burger is to die for), and the kids food is great value. It’s quality like gastro pub food, but without the pretentiousness and fussiness. Decor is lovely and clean and tasteful. Well impressed - we will be coming back regularly.”

“The Gyle is a fantastic find in a really brilliant spot near to Kings Cross and St Pancreas but on a square that in 8 nights there was super quiet. Not an area Id normally stay in but within walking distance of the coal drop yards etc was perfect for a work thing. My room was big for London- Room 22 - and had a balconey. Very comfortable bed and clean. Room had everything I needed- its not a full service hotel but had tea coffee in the room hair dryer etc. Staff are very helpful and welcoming as well. Breakfast in mornings is served in their bar area and I also had a brilliant toastie one afternoon (like a club sandwich toastie- huge!!), and they have great wine. I enjoyed my stay there! Thanks Gyle!!”
