Ashiana (Romford)
● Closed“I've eaten a lot of Biryani dishes, and each is unique - and this is no different. It's light, gently spiced, and a touch on the dry side - but that's only because it's paired with the delicious curry that are provided for you to pair the biryani with. The vegetable curry is flavourful (provided with the biryani). The vindaloo and jalfrezi have been catered for the local clientele, are of a good quality, and are not too hot to handle. Anyone with a mild to medium taste pallet will enjoy it. The staff are polite and friendly, and food was delivered on-time and warm. Happy with the service, would order again.”

Indian Ocean Romford
● Closed“First visit, parking for 5 or 6 cars in front but we managed to park easily on the opposite side of the road (care - some spaces are double yellow lines). Recommended by a friend and I add my recommendation to hers. Choice and quality of food superb, up there with the very best we've had. Recommend lamb shanks and mixed grill, but everything looked and tasted great. Didn't have a starter and just as well as portions were a good size. Had a poppadom each instead and even the dips were excellent. Try the lime pickle with chickpeas, excellent. Price was very reasonable, 3 beers and a bottle of wine between 4, main course and sides, about £25 a head. Don't be put off by a couple of surly waiters, with food this good you can suffer a little bit of moody service. Oh, and they had run out of Cobra Zero so the driver had to move on the water, also no Baileys for the complimentary drink, but can't really allow that to detract from the high quality of the food. We'll be back!”

PAYA Cuisine (Romford)
● Open“Tried this Chinese after our regular was closed for the night. I think this will now become our regular Chinese. The food had loads of flavour, not greasy. Packaged nicely with clear lids to see the food, the sauce pots were in a tray so no risk of leaking in the delivery bag. The food was also nice and hot, and the chips were good and not rock hard like most are from chinese takeaways.”

Gup Shup - Chit Chat Chai
● Closed3 Clockhouse Lane, Romford RM5 3PH, United Kingdom“I had high expectations going here and the food surpassed them with ease! This will probably end up becoming my favourite local restaurant and there is some good competition in the area, so it says a lot! Prices are very reasonable and the place looks great as well, they have put a lot of effort into bringing this place to life! The only downside is that there are nowhere near enough seats because this place will get very popular very soon! I will be eating here again as soon as I can, and so should you!”

Ginger Spice
● Closed395-397 Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, Romford RM2 5TH, United Kingdom“If you are looking for an indian restaurant look no further as Ginger Spice is clearly the best. Decorated beautifully with a large comfortable bar area to relax whilst having pre dinner drinks. The waiters are so friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food was all lovely. The flavours of the spices with the beautiful presentation made every mouthful wonderful. It was a totally different experience for me as I normally choose a sauce based curry but I decided to opt for fish and king prawns and it was so fully of flavour and the fish remained delicate. My husband chose the salmon main and the spice added to a lovely salmon fillet. We were not rushed and had a great interaction with the waiters. They made sure all 10 of us were served together by using a restuarent dessert trolley to bring all of our dishes at once. The only disappointment was another unnecessarily noisy table of 10 next to us which made conversation difficult whilst they were at their table. But that unfortunately happens sometimes nowadays. The main restuarent was much quieter with curved booth setting to give more privacy which is ideal for smaller groups. I can recommend with confidence.”

Kanchans Rasoi London
● Open“Had a delivery last night consisting of a range of dishes, along with rasmalai for dessert. We couldn't fault the food. The portions were extremely generous. We were given sauce, poppadoms and salad for free. They have a good range of dishes for meat eaters and vegetarians. We would definitely buy again.”
