“I was surprised at the lower reviews. I have ordered takeaway lunch twice. First I had iddyuppam, the only slightly negative comment I can make was that aubergine portion was pretty small. Yesterday I ordered chicken kottu rotti and chicken curry, both were super tasty and I'll definitely be returning.”

“A truly great dining experience! I was lucky enough to be introduced to Punjabi Dhaba by a Sikh friend, who wanted me to experience authentic Punjabi food. The food and experience did not disappoint. The fish pakora were so fresh and cooked perfectly….crispy, spicy batter with a soft flaky fish filling. The mixed grill was the best I’ve ever eaten….and I’ve tried a few. Dish after dish that were served, were all so good. From the poppadoms and chutneys, through to the curry and naan, everything was perfect. The lamb in the curry was ridiculously soft, tender and flavoursome. The owner was also was particularly welcoming, as was the waiter serving us. However, the real star of the show was the chef. Having the open kitchen at the front of the restaurant, provided the opportunity to observe a mater chef cooking food with love and passion. Punjabi Dhaba provided a great experience. My only regret was being beaten by the lamb curry…..but I’ll be back to try other dishes. I can’t wait to return to Punjabi Dhaba, to enjoy other dishes created by the extremely talented chef.”

“A totally different concept- totally taken back by the concept of a double decker bus. The starters were amazing, masala fish was not oily, the kebab was made from quality with no fat. The butter chicken was amazing (considering i never like butter chicken), the meat curry was the only issue, a bit watery, I guess its horses for courses.”

“It is good for Indian street food like Chaat,chhole batora, Indian currys. Fafda,snacks,chikki,sweets,boondi ladoo,chamcham..many more dishes to try here. It is a old place in South hall. Very famous and we'll know in London area .”

“A grade food and first class service. Loved how the food is presented. This is the closest to and the very best of authentic Gujarati vegetarian food you will taste in this area. Will certainly come again. On the flip side, the bill came as a bit of a surprise. We paid approx £130 for 4 adults and 4 children, which was way higher than we expected. To be fair, that is not the restaurant's fault. But suggest you be mindful on that front.”

“Service was quick. Girl there was very welcoming. I didn't like the Pani Puri's Pani it was too sweet, but whoever likes sweet Pani in their Pani puri will love it. The momo I ordered (sadeko momo) it was soo freaking good. Definitely going to visit again for the momo and would love to try there other food items.”

“More cafe than restaurant experience, however the food is wonderful. All the Dosas are so tasty, tandoori chicken was beautifully presented. Best of all was the Kadai Paneer curry with it's lovely thick rich curry sauce, this always varies in quality but this was the best yet! Please don't change it!”

“This is by far our favourite Indian takeaway! The food is divine, not too greasy and perfect proportion wise. It's also really affordable- we have spent so much more in other take aways with a fancier look and it doesn't even compare to our local here. “A true hidden gem for vegetarian food, this place keeps the tradition of service industry keeping everything so simple that the focus has been on food , one of the best places in London for BYOB ! Always a delight to eat great food cheap and wash it down with something you like! I have been coming here for years , not sure this visit if the management has changed ? The Sambhar has not been rasam like it was more daal like , the Dosa was amazing , the filling was a bit hash botch of veg put together! Still all in all good could have been better , the chaat was wet but tasty ! I am sure if you do not know the food from basic it will be very much enjoyable!”

“New customers here as we HAD been going to the same Indian for around 20 years but the last couple of times it has been not nice at all… really gone down hill. So we tried curry queen… well….food arrived hot! Not tight on portions! Great quantity! Food tasted great! Quick delivery! And a big difference in price (curry queen being £10-£15 less that what we would of paid) than what we used to pay with our previous Indian that we used! All round great service Not one fault at all! Will be our new regular! Thanks for a lovely meal!”
