“Went in the morning to miss some of the lunchtime rush. A very nice and quaint pub, a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee and read a book. The staff were very nice and the outside area is well maintained. Would be a good spot for sunnier days too”

“The gym at Sandown was fully refurbished in January 2018, and is fully kitted out with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment. Using their Wellness system, you are able to monitor your progress in and out of the gym, as well as help tailor your fitness programme to suit you. They have a whole range of equipment, including Kinesis Cable machines, a Skill Mill, a Ski Erg and an Assault Bike. Selected machines have screens where you can choose a variety of apps to use whilst you exercise. They also have a full suite of resistance training equipment and a well-styled free weights room with Olympic weights.They house Esher’s first and only dedicated Functional Fitness Studio. Their team of personal trainers will use their extensive knowledge to create a fitness experience that can offer sound advice along with functional equipment, helping clients of all ages to improve their fitness and general well-being, and even putting the fun back into fitness!”

“As a Chinese who grown up in China and have been living in the UK for many years, I wouldn’t say this place has very authentic Chinese food, but it doesn’t stop it being an excellent restaurant. The food was really nice and the staffs are very friendly. They have reinvented the Chinese dishes to fit the British taste, but it’s still nice and kept the inspiration of Chinese food.”

“We had a really lovely experience here after some very hit and misses (more commonly misses) in the surrounding area while staying here for a week. The lady that served us was French and brought with her that air of hospitality as a career rather than a job that continental Europeans have that makes for really nice service. Efficient, polite and warm but unobtrusive. We hadn’t booked but were seated easily although it was a fairly busy Thursday night. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating available and a kids play park. I was so so happy to see the menu. A few carefully curated items rather than a huge menu (which I always avoid where possible as you just know it’s either done badly or isn’t fresh). I was surprised to notice that despite the appealing choices on the menu, literally everyone around us seemed to be eating burgers or fish and chips! Each to their own I suppose but I had the confit duck, my husband the lamb cutlets and his father the mussels. We all thought our food was incredibly tasty and were so happy we went on and had puddings which were also yummy. We would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area highly recommend!”

“Amazing Indian food tonight after meeting the brilliant Bitzu (who works there) outside. He invited me in and had an amazing meal at the bar. The barman Tuzo supplied the drinks, great barman, much in his element. A sphere full place to eat out. Much recommended.”

“Huge fan Spanish food so thought I would give this place a try for lunch on a Saturday. Really pleased I did. Loved the modern take on traditional Spanish Tapas. Ordered 6 items from the Tapas menu between two adults and each one was fantastic. Had kids with us too and they all cleared their plates although these were more traditional Brit offerings of burgers and sausage. One of the kids has a soya allergy and the waitress provided an allergens chart which was very helpful. Will return and highly recommend!”

“I just love this place every time I me I find something new to see no matter what time of year you visit. The coffee shop serves a wonderfully select of foods and drinks. And not forgetting the private beach that has a wealth of history this is a must visit place.”

“Had a great night with the family for my daughter’s birthday. Great quality asian fusion food, very fresh tasting curries and good cocktails! It was also to party and dance there after your meal with the resident DJ. Thanks to all the team at Pounding Heart for looking after us.”

The guys who run the place made an effort to learn our names to make us feel welcome which was such a great touch. Connor and Louis - we are your number 1 fans!”

“Had a problem with a Honda lawnmower which I'd bought a few months earlier (surging when warm). Initially was told may or may not be warranty, but I sent an email explaining the issue and had a call back within 30 mins from Paul. Dropped the mower off on a Tuesday - was told by another member of staff it "may be a few weeks", but received a call the next day from Paul to say all was fixed and mower was ready to pick up (it was a faulty gasket fitted by the factory). Shame about poor Honda quality control, but thumbs up to Ernest Doe for solving the problem quickly.”

“Such a helpful friendly waitress who really helped put the kids at ease, table of 8 so plenty of demands met with a smile and prompt service. Food was delicious. My Pollo Ad Astra pizza was perfect tasty and just enough spice. American Hot is a firm favourite too. My son loved his Dynamite Dough Balls. My calamari was perfectly done too. Sticky toffee cake was generous and cheesecake was absolutely delicious. What's not to like! Especially as my dear brother picked up the bill :-)”

“I've just had a very pleasant lunch at winterdown coffee shop. What lovely people . Had a nice toastie and a tea. There is somewhere to sit in the shade,they've worked hard to make the area appealing with vegetable and flower boxes and they've even cleaned the toilet up. Thank you, I will be back. Sarah”
