“I been the first time in this little cafe bistro and it was friendly, welcoming very clean and food and staff outstanding, I cam in with my friend and we both enjoyed our stay. Definitely come back here! The staff did not rush us and been absolutely polite and friendly!”

“I booked four nights recently at BGH and absolutely loved it. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you, my room was huge and the off street parking was a blessing. I was on a course and the room allowed me peace to study at night. Two minutes walk from the high street, for food or local shops - it was brilliant. Breakfast was available every day and the garden room was gorgeous. My room had two wardrobes, a fridge, a smart TV and free wi-fi. My private shower room was very modern, clean and constantly with warm water and lots of clean fresh towels. I was treated to a wonderful stay at Brentwood guest house and plan on returning very soon for another beautiful, rest filled stay!”

“I visited this restaurant with a client for the first time,this week. A wonderful gem, in a small village. Excellent food and service, extremely good wine and the chef/owner an absolute gentlemen with a great sense of humour. I live in France and have to say, one of the finest meals I have had anywhere.”

“Wonderful service, prompt with a smile, and really nice options on the menu. We ended up here somewhat by accident after the Grufalo trial and booked a table purely based on reviews. Although it was about 15 minutes away I'd say it was worth the drive. We had the double stacked friend chicken burger, pear and walnut salad, ribs for starter and the meringue which was a perfect summer dessert. Good vegetarian options as well. They cater well for outside bookings and are also well setup post Covid. Lovely pub, lovely people in a lovely area.”

“Really good cosy and friendly atmosphere in the restaurant or public bar, which is situated on the left as you enter. I highly recommend their Sunday roast options, including the 3 meat offering. Overall, a little gem of a place just opposite Shenfield High School.”

It's a propa old pub with some characters in there. Staff were so friendly (a special thanks to the lady that booked my daughter under 'princess') Really warm welcoming and friendly pub plus the food was excellent. “A warm and friendly pub with exceptionally nice staff (even to the point where the manager has checked that I am getting home all right - I was very touched), the Essex Arms is also notable for its monthly karaoke nights. The host, Gary Pryce, is a true professional, getting as many singers on as humanly possible, while giving supportive encouragement to anyone who has felt a bit nervous. Come on down and join the fun!”

“Situated on the main high street. A Wetetherspoons, an absolutely super range of lager, real ales and various other drinks on offer, the prices for selected ales can be as low as £2.50 a pint. There's an ample breakfast menu at very affordable prices. There is also a wide of main meals available and it seemed a daily special at lunchtime. To me, this establishment offered very good value for money. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Brentwood.”
