Family dinner spot in Ilford

“Went for late breakfast just now and had a Set 2. Food was cooked, to my opinion, perfectly. Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Mushrooms, Chips, Beans, 2 toast and a mug of tea for £7.50. In today's climate that is well priced and considering it is a High St location I think great value for money. Parking on the road outside too. They have 5 stars scores on the door rating which made me want to try it. Under new owners from when I went years ago and they know what they're doing. Will definitely go again.”

“Absolutely delicious!! The kebabs were the best we have had (and we have tried many), it was very flavoursome, you could really taste the various spices and left us wanting more! The chicken shawarma was top notch, nice, juicy and had flavour to it, not bland as most restaurants!! A good portion too. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!”

“We had an amazing meal on Saturday. The service was some of the best I’ve ever had. All staff knowledgeable about our order and seem to be enjoying themselves. When the staff are happy it sets a lovely vibe for the restaurant. I loved being able to see the kitchen staff preparing the meals. The food was excellent, great choice (more than I expected as a vegetarian) and everything was so tasty. The drinks were a particular highlight- fabulous wines, cocktail and gin. Will be visiting again!”

“Had a great experience at Apna Des. It was late night and they were about to close but they were kind enough to serve as as their last customers for the day. Ordered Chicken Karahi and chicken biryani and got the suggestion for Garlic naan which was really amazing. Both of the main courses were lovely, loved the quantity too. Staff was really helpful specially Annie, kudos to her. Overall: 9/10 Definitely going back very soon”

The food was so tasty that it dominated everything else at the party and everyone loved the dishes. We were surprised to see people voluntarily taking home the extra food and glad to say not even a small piece went to waste. I am extremely delighted with the quality of food and the professionalism that Rohith demonstrated during this event, he was very humble and polite through out and despite of his extremely busy schedule he took the time to answer all our queries and accommodate all the changes even during the last few days of the event. “This is a true old fashioned local pub surviving next to the supermarkets and new flats of Ilford. A very Irish feel to the pub, real people enjoying themselves. Good Guinness. Sensible prices. Football on TV but not taking over the whole pub, pool table plenty of seats with tables plus traditional bar. Near to local transport.”

“Took my friend here first time..service was great and on point.we orderd aubergine and potato meze which was served with salad and toasted bread the cold meze was mind blowing we could taste each and every flavour. For the mains we had grilled ribbs.and salmon with chips and salad.the salmon was well done it was perfect.price wise this place is same as all turkish places. Will recommend sultans.”

“Amazing restaurant. As I entered the restaurant the decor was the first thing that stood out to me the tables were well organized, they had television screens that displayed all the menus and the seats were trendy and comfortable. Not forgetting, the food was amazing I ordered the smash burger Korean wings and a shake. The burger was made to perfection probably the best burger I’ve ever eaten the wings were a little sweet to my liking but still delicious. If you are ever in Barkingside this is a restaurant you can’t miss.”
