“Great food in an intimate setting. We shared some curries between us which were authentic and tasted great. Slightly more expensive than other local sri lankan restaurants but the place is more upmarket and the decor lovely. Our waiter was friendly and really knowledgeable. You could tell a lot of care and hard work has gone into the restaurant”

Our favourites were veg curry, daal, beetroot, fried bananas and aubergines. A lot of amazing things and prices are great!”

“The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely it was rather crowded after work hours and it certainly took me a minute to find the restaurant through the pub but it was definitely worth the effort I’m from the US and I live in California which has a lot of great Thai food and this place was surprisingly good. I had a great time everyone was very friendly and I had a wonderful chat with the person next to me at the counter, overall wonderful atmosphere and delicious food!”

“My son took me for a birthday lunch here today. Nice modern,clean,warm,and spacious setting.We ate off the the a la carte menu and the food was delicious! It came fresh and piping hot. Enormous dosas!We had to have doggy bags :)) I especially enjoyed the Mogo fries. So different to horrible greasy chips. Service was friendly and fast as well. Recommended.”

“Food was authentic, considering we are from Chennai/Erode, the taste was mind blowing. Reminded us of our hometown and mom’s cooking. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant. All the staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Our favourite is the aadu chukka & chettinad thali. Kesari for dessert literally melts and ignites the taste buds. Overall was a lively experience and will visit again along with recommending to friends.”

“Ive been to this restaurant many times and always loved their food. But what makes this restaurant special is one of the staff who works there. This review is a special shout out to Blair. He was very polite, courteous and a hospitable to all the people who had come to dine. He made sure people were seated quickly and arranged tables to be cleaned for everyone. He was going to every table after the food was served to ask if everything was ok and if could get them anything else. He was working with full dedication as if he owned the place and playing excellent host. Thank you Blair. Such staff should be treasured and constantly appreciated.”

“Felt home after a really long time. Ordered 2 meals with my friend and every dish was tasty and filled with flavour. Felt transported back to being in Chennai. The people who worked also were hospitable and friendly and kept asking us if we wanted anything else. Ended the meal with filter coffee which was again a 10/10”

“Lovely Keralan food and friendly service. I went there around 5pm on Saturday and was not busy at all. The staff were very friendly and polite. I had masala tea and masala dosa. The tea was very nice and had that typical Indian spice notes. The dosa was lovely , accompanied by Sambar and coconut chutneys. It was all very tasty , especially the Sambar, which had a very authentic taste. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for someone who fancies some Kerala food.”

“I get so excited about me next Apollo Banana Leaf. Their deliveries really got me through lock down. We went a good few years ago and ordered several meat dishes. Even as a meat eater, I can say that I would 100% go for their veggie dishes every time. So flavourful and delicious. Our go to’s are… Aubergine curry, vegetable kothu, paneer tikka masala, prawn puree, with a fluffy parotta. Highly recommend their (super speedy) deliveries and their BYOB dine in option!”

“I adored this place after a long day of shopping, shindes is a perfect spot to stop and have amazing veggie food... the place is really clean and modern and service was quick. Ani was so sweet and he recommended really good dishes for lunch, I can now definitely recommend the Gobi 65 and hot fresh kulcha... we will definitely be returning for more when we are back on green street x”

“Not sure about the older reviews - I see mixed opinions; my experience with it - we just ordered from Rajeev after he moved to the Jolly Farmers pub. Food was very nice, arrived quick with no delivery fee and they’ve got a lot of mains in the menu that I never tried / you typically don’t find in most Indian restaurants. We’ll order again surely and looking forward for the summer to eat in at the pub garden.”

“Ate in with family for a birthday meal. All the curries, rice, pappadums and chutneys were excellent. We tried the korma, tikka masala, dopiaza, bhuna and biryani. A few pieces of chicken were tougher than I like but I felt the curries made up for it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of the meal. Service is excellent from every staff member we interacted with. One dish I wasn't very sure about was the Leemu ice cream. It comes in a very well presented pot so is fun to eat, however the consistency was harder and icier than I expected. It was more like a hard sorbet than ice cream. So whilst my meal wasn't absolutely perfect, I did enjoy the overall experience and felt that it was great value. Our total bill was on par with ordering from a take away.”

“Food has the authentic taste. Never tasted anything like this before. You need to let the chef know if you need less clarified butter and the chef cooked it perfectly as was requested. Nice place for family dinner with authentic flavour dishes. I 100% recommend it to people who love authentic curry food.”

“One of my go to restaurants with a Jain menu (I’m veg and don’t eat alliums)! Service is also fantastic - you won’t be getting chatty servers, but you’ll surely have people serving you with bright smiles. I always leave this place feeling satisfied and happy!”
