The Portobello Inn
● ClosedWest Kingsdown, Sevenoaks TN15 6JB, United Kingdom“Just to be clear my scoring system: 1/ Don't go, just don't. 2/ I can't recommend going 3/ I enjoyed it but probably won't go back 4/ I enjoyed it, would go back especially if invited 5/ I enjoyed it, would invite others there myself Honestly I was a touch worried when I entered. It looked just a little bit tired and like a local pub. Should have realised that this just meant it hadn't been turned into a sterile gastropub chain... Because I had the steak. On a hot stone. It was amazing! I love nowhere near... But genuinely if I was anywhere even close I'd go back just to eat that again!!! Service was great and the marquee although temperature went up and down a bit stayed warm enough to keep us comfortable. That steak............”

Calm Indian Cow
● Closed“I bumped into this stall at covent garden a few days ago, and I was absolutely amazed by their “naan sense set”! I chose mix and match of chicken & paneer, and IT MADE MY DAY. This is one of the best dishes I ever had in London. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the curry even had joyful crispy texture, well matched with the sweetness of pomegranate. The set comes with saffron rice, naan, and vegetables. And it costed only £10! I’m sure I’ll come back often. The owner was super nice too! My favorite!”

The Chelsea Cellar
● Closed“I came here as part of a business group for dinner yesterday evening. Firstly, WOW!! What a wonderful restaurant. Beautiful, cosy, intimate venue. We were greeted with a glass of gorgeous Prosecco and seated in comfy chairs. Mood lighting made the place feel so special. Then..the food!! Oh, my!! Platter after platter of the most delicious starters were brought to the table. My personal highlight was the platter of buratta, mixed Italian salamis/prosciutto and tomatoes. I have eaten many buratta in my time but this was beyond-words-delicious. Same with my tuna steak:.never tasted anything like it to this standard. The ‘table wine’ was far beyond anything you would get in a standard Italian in London. It was so smooth..needless to say, many a refill was requested haha!! The two-man staff were efficient, super-attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend Chelsea Cellar enough. Belissimo!!”

Noble Palace
● Closed“I love this place for cocktails! Yes it is pricey and it is more for special occasions than an everyday place to go to. The decor is awesome, the staff is beyond polite and welcoming, well done. Their concept of cocktails menu is very intriguing, you choose an emotion from their book and they prepare the cocktail for you. Went twice and both times the drinks were original and very good.”

Bread & Oregano
● Open“First time trying and really enjoyed it. The new space looks really good, really light and has a nice feel about it. Was 3 of us and came to about £55 but we definitely ordered more than needed with coffees. 2 of us shared the mix gyros platter, one had eggs and avocado and share a couple of sides - the sausage in particular was Delish. Really tasty and generous portion - the gyros meat was nice and crispy and moist - as good as we’ve had in Greece. 2 minor things which were a bit negative. Firstly the eggs were a bit cold - suspect due to sitting around while they got the platter and sides sorted. We ordered tzatziki and pitta as sides, we probably should have worked out (and does say on menu), but would have thought the waiter would have mentioned the gyros platter did come with that those as we would have tried perhaps hummus or another side. Overall, great spot, friendly staff, tasty food and felt value for money. Would recommend and return.”

Little Green Dragon
● Closed“Micro pub on the edge of Winchmore Hill. Has half a dozen cask beers on plus the same with keg beers. Cask is served from gravity, presumably the venue doesn't have a cellar but the beers are always kept very well. Richard and the rest of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Regulars are great and will make you feel very welcome. It's easily the best pub in the area.”

The River Ale House
● Closed“Love this place! This is the first micro pub I've been to and I absolutely love it! Nice and cosy. Encourages talking to each other. Beers are excellent, well-chosen and kept, and *very* reasonably priced. Decent cider too. My new favourite pub in Greenwich, along with The Pelton Arms, and closely followed by The Crown.”

Old House
● Closed“A friendly, off-the beaten track local pub, serving great ales direct from the cask. Very traditional interior, and the locals are engaged in funny conversations and banter. This was a great pit stop on our long walk. I think this was how all pubs used to be - a genuine meeting place rather than somewhere to extract money out of you - I hope it never changes!”

Tap Sidcup
● Closed“So impressed with this little pub!! I’ve driven past loads and felt like it deserved a visit. It’s less ‘micropub’ and more ‘classy bar’ vibes. Great music and amazing selection of drinks. They actually have taps on the tables with iPads where you can fill up your own cocktails or beers, what a super concept! The decor is sublime as it gives the impression you are in a holiday destination rather than in a pub in Blackfen. The icing on the cake was when I went to the ladies. Never have I ever been in an establishment where sanitary products, perfume and hair spray are provided, without the looky looky lady! I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you”

We sampled quite a few across the range, pale ales, ipa’s, bitters and stouts and they were all lovely. We will be returning and next time our wives said they’ll come with us and sample their gins :-)”

Noble Green Wines
● Closed153-155 High Street, Hampton Hill, Hampton TW12 1NL, United Kingdom“Brilliant service! We were looking for a specific bottle of Nebbiolo that we had in Florence last week and the few suppliers that had any in stock were suggesting 7 days for delivery at anywhere upwards of £5. Not only did these guys have the exact bottle we were looking for, but they delivered locally within in 2 hours of placing the order on the same day, for free! Will definitely be using them again. Thank you.”

Jacks Off Licence
● Closed178a Stroud Green Road, London N4 3RS, United Kingdom“Hands down the best offie around. Incredibly diverse selection of beers from the UK and abroad, with plenty of wine and spirits to choose from too. The only thing they could improve would be their chilled selection: their fridges aren't huge and they don't often vary what they put in them.”
