Fresh and delicious food prepared with lots of care, we tried most of the vegetarian items on the menu and loved them all - Tortelloni Al Funghi was an absolute knockout. If in doubt between other restaurants and this one when in Borehamwood, don't think twice.”

“Genuinely gorgeous food and especially cakes, wow! Tried a cake today (lime something) possibly one of the top 3 desserts I ever had. Staff are very friendly and polite, and the manager is an angel! Charming and sweet makes the experience even better. We ordered rustic dog meal, sourdough toast with avocado and the cake I mentioned above and some skin on fries. Fries genuinely tasted like potatoes which is an experience I only had in really rare times. Beautify taste and beautiful atmosphere and just really lovely food and customer service. A manager who shows that she doesn’t just care about her customers but also about her staff. Definitely will be there again. Highly recommended!”

“Wow, delicious Mediterranean breakfast, a feast for such a reasonable price! Everything was delicious, Simit bread was soft on the inside but crispy on the outside, goat cheese, honeys and jams, fruit, olives! Delicious sizzling sucuk and eggs in the middle. Very very impressed, delicious quality of everything served. Large coffees also served with breakfast. Staff were extremely helpful with dietary questions and very prompt. Can't wait to come back!”

“I cannot explain how happy I am with the Shenley sandwich bar. I’ve been going there for over 20 years and couldn’t think of a better company to cater my 40th birthday party. They provided me with trays of the most tasty mini bagels, filled with various meat and vegetarian fillings which went down an absolute treat with my party guests. “We came here 2 days in the row as the service was great. We had terrible service at a cafe elsewhere up the street as they were not accommodating to our babies sleeping in the pram. Pink cafe were utterly delightful. We were advised which cakes were nicest and had the most yummy cake. The next day we came back and nothing was too much. Food was so delicious (philly cheese wrap, kofta platter and burger) and drinks (chai latte and cuppacino) were amazingly made!!! We can't wait to return to try all the rest of the stuff on the menu and habe the wonderful service again. Chairs are comfy and loos clean. Very happy with our time here.”

“A couple of weeks ago, I entered these premises and met a lovely lady called Jenny. So I introduced myself and purchased some items. I returned yesterday and the place was buzzing. Nick the owner is a man who is the most natural business owner, proud of his bakery, items for sale, lovely staff and a wicked sense of humour. I felt welcome so we had a quick chats in between sales about future events and their catering service. I met the Rabbi and some happy children. Had a coffee and with music in the background, felt at home. Left with a big smile on my face, tasty coffee, tea and bags full of delicious cakes bagels. Jenny and Nick, thank you for being you! “Great food,staff are polite, helpful and very freindly. The premises are well decorated and spotlessly clean. Our meals were well presented and had a wonderful home cooked flavour. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the central fireplace adds a lovely homely touch. Our server, Lotty is a joy and adds to the whole experience. Great food, great staff, treat yourself to an evening at the Mops, you won't be disappointed.”

Expensive (although visited during eat out to help out scheme) but with great food, you should definitely check Balagan out. I ordered a schnitzel meal, which came accompanied by chips and salad. The schnitzel was crispy and tasty albeit a little on the small side, but the chips were incredible. Super soft and wonderfully unprocessed, these were by far the best chips I’ve had in a while. Salad was good as well, and the Oreo milkshake was decent for a Parve option. Shawarma was also great as well as falafel, and the pita that came with the meal was really great and authentic, you could definitely tell it had been grilled a little. Staff were quick to check up on us and ensure the meal was fine, and it was nice sitting outside. Great experience overall.”

“Aziza is a Moroccan style Kosher restaurant in Borehamwood which is a really welcome addition to the kosher scene. Meals are inexpensive and tasty, and the hors d'ourvres were really good value. We ate arayes as our starter. The kofta filled pitta was delicious. We followed with the spicy chicken breast which was also tasty, and for £8 was excellent value. Can't comment on deserts though. We skipped these as they didn't look special.”

We used the car park and went for a walk nearby past the aerodrome before coming back for a fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Gluten Free option was excellent with gluten free Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Beef was melt in the mouth. Nice environment, toasty and warm, traditional layout with hard work having gone into halloween decorations. Really impressed and will definitely be back.”
