Prior to my first session, I felt anxious as this was my first experience of therapy but Dean is very calming and I immediately felt comfortable. Dean has a careful approach and always provides understanding; his support has helped me to think in much more positive ways for the future.”

The Chelsea Psychology Clinic
● Open“Having visited the Chelsea Psychology Clinic I can confirm they're a highly professional group with an extremely in-depth skill set, with extensively trained and experienced staff. Personally I wanted to work with a clinical Dr because I was not sure what support I needed, so wanted to ensure I worked with someone who was well versed in a range of therapies and had lots of experience in putting them into practice. If you are seeking help for any range of therapies, they are certainly worth contacting, as within my case they were very effective at getting the results I was after. A huge part of this is down to the Dr I was paired with understanding me and my needs and us having a good rapport. You will get what you are after more if you can relate to and trust who you are working with, rather than just being given a treatment, and not believing in it, so being paired with the best Dr for my situation was really beneficial for me. In terms of what to expect, private therapy is not a cheap endeavour wherever you go, and it generally takes several weeks to have a worthwhile effect. For me the important thing was that I got better, but it’s worth asking up front around costs / sessions required. There is also normally a small wait time as well if you are after certain time slots so maybe take that into consideration. Personally, I went through my private health care provider as it brought the cost down significantly for me, and I found the NHS wait times are often closer to 4 - 6 months, with a limit on the max number of sessions. Speak to them, ask questions, and work out what’s best for you. For me, the service was great, and I got the results I was after, but never expect these things to be a magic bullet - be patient and work hard.”

Brigitte Haas Counselling
● Open“"I received a lot of support from Brigitte while I was going through a difficult time in my life. Her warmth, understanding and real interest in me made it possible for me to talk about painful issues. Because of that and the right questions she asked I could develop new perspectives and could find my strength again." Ursula, 2011 "Working with Brigitte was an incredibly valuable experience for me. Not only did I find her professional and highly skilled but she worked with an open honesty, which for me, was like a breath of fresh air." Lucy, 2007 "Brigitte is warm, empathic and committed to her clients. She is reliable and consistent and I felt very safe by her boundaried approach. I enjoyed Brigitte's sense of humour in our sessions as well as her gentle and effective challenges. At times I tried to hide things from her, (and myself) and Brigitte would notice this but the decision was always mine whether I pursued it or not, we worked at my pace". Sonya, 2007”

● Open“My experience with Jane, which started off as six weeks sessions, paid for by my company were incredible. She relaxed me over the phone, as we couldn't do face to face with covid. It turned out, I need long term counselling, so I went private with Jane after 3 months. I love talking to Jane, and always feel better after. I miss her now while she is off,and am hoping I can get her back soon. She is truly wonderful!”

-
Transition Counselling
● Open“Marie was the best therapist I've had, able to help me put language around the experiences I was having. She was able to facilitate some of the biggest breakthroughs that I've had and been a means of a much healthier, balanced lifestyle. Her cultural competency was especially strong, something that I've struggled to find with other therapists and was able to contextualise some of the externalities affecting my mental health (the impact of racism for instance). An absolutely fantastic therapist - would highly recommend!”

Surrey Downs Counselling
● Open“I can’t imagine my life without meeting Turiya. At the time I was meeting a few counsellors but didn’t feel right with anyone. My yoga teacher told me that she knows someone really good and she was absolutely right. From the first session I felt comfortable talking with Turiya, his holistic approach was practical and worked well for me. He is a very patient and understanding listener and great guide to me and my husband, to explore what is happening and how we can break the recurring cycle to change our life easier. As a child we never had good mature adults to talk, his talking therapy and guidance was exactly what was missing in our life. I used to look for a female oriental counsellor but he made me realised what I really needed. Now I can start to think about what I want to do in my life, not just how I can survive. I recommend Turiya for anyone and actually some of my friends have gone to see him as well. I think everyone has any kind of missing parts in their childhood, it’s always good to talk to a specialist to find that parts to fill them out for enjoyable life.”

The Lighthouse Counselling Partnership (TLCP)
● Open“I used the services of TLCP throughout the majority of 2021, a particularly difficult year for myself and many others. The weekly sessions with Debra really helped me piece parts of my life together, helping me connect issues and understand myself better. I felt immediately comfortable and willing to share with Debra, who listened and picked up on points I raised, illuminating links that I hadn't made before to previous experiences, relationships etc. I would strongly recommend their services, particularly if the 'regular' private route is too much of a financial burden as TLCP were willing to negotiate to an amount that was suited to my wage. Thank you again for all of your help.”
