“First impressions when walking into this place is that they’ve clearly tried to set themselves apart here in terms of decor. Environment is modern yet also warm with a few individual touches that gives the place personality. We came on a weekday so the bar on the ground floor was pretty empty but can imagine is a good place to have a couple of drinks before headed upstairs to the restaurant. There is a good range of meats and seafood on the menu, and with a good selection on the set menu choices also. Although did enjoy the food nothing really “outstanding”. “Order my Star Shine quite regularly (once a month at least) never have any problems with their food. Great sized portions for what you are paying and the occasional free drink. I order via just eat for anyone looking for a good Chinese :)”

“My partner and I are obsessed with this place. We live in Sydenham so will often go out of our way to get here - the coffee is so delicious and the best in the area by far. The size of the coffee is perfect for us. Admittedly it’s not cheap but reasonably and competitively priced with all coffee shops in the area for a far superior product. Also love the friendly buzz behind the counter and quick service, no matter how long the queue. Fingers crossed they’ll open up a few more branches in the future!”

“Great little place. Have been quite a few times and always great. Breakfast is delicious - not quite 100% on the eggs but that is personal preference. We went with our son recently and they were very accommodating with a high chair. I would recommend caution taking a pram because the place is small and if it is busy - as it often is - it can be awkward managing that BUT it is busy because of how nice it is.”

“Situated opposite the church in the High Street. The venue serves breakfast, lunches and dinner, it also serves cocktails and has a venue at the back you can hire out. On this occasion we went for dinner, We had a bottle of prosseco , my partner had Classic Nachos and I had Mediterranean Halloumi for starters, for main my partner had Steak Fajitas and I had Spicy Fish Pot. The food was excellent as was the service and staff. Well worth a visit it caters for all tastes vegan etc.”

“Best 'proper' pub in town. The staff are all great, always on it, friendly and welcoming. The pub itself has many superb architectural and decorative features. Food is always top rate, plentiful and good value. Live music regular too. Really warm and lively atmosphere in the evenings.”

“John’s Kitchen is amazing. I usually don’t like some Chinese takeaways because it can be so oily but here they don’t make it oily. Their ho fun and sweet and sour is the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend this place”

“First time using Ranna Ghor. We had one issue - received chicken Tikka Masala instead of paneer. I called the restaurant and they were genuinely sorry and very apologetic and got us a replacement promptly. How they react to a problem is often how I judge a place and this was good customer service. As for the food... excellent all round and we will definitely use again. Impressed!”
