“Had a great experience at Apna Des. It was late night and they were about to close but they were kind enough to serve as as their last customers for the day. Ordered Chicken Karahi and chicken biryani and got the suggestion for Garlic naan which was really amazing. Both of the main courses were lovely, loved the quantity too. Staff was really helpful specially Annie, kudos to her. Overall: 9/10 Definitely going back very soon”

“Went to this amazing restaurant in the neighbourhood. I always prefer to eat meat but this time this vegetarian restaurant served the purpose very well. I ordered Aloo Piyaz thali with sweet lassi and everything was on point. The kind lady from staff was very helpful. Ambience was great with good choice of punjabi music. “Went for late breakfast just now and had a Set 2. Food was cooked, to my opinion, perfectly. Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Mushrooms, Chips, Beans, 2 toast and a mug of tea for £7.50. In today's climate that is well priced and considering it is a High St location I think great value for money. Parking on the road outside too. They have 5 stars scores on the door rating which made me want to try it. Under new owners from when I went years ago and they know what they're doing. Will definitely go again.”

“Absolutely delicious!! The kebabs were the best we have had (and we have tried many), it was very flavoursome, you could really taste the various spices and left us wanting more! The chicken shawarma was top notch, nice, juicy and had flavour to it, not bland as most restaurants!! A good portion too. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!”

“Lovely Keralan food and friendly service. I went there around 5pm on Saturday and was not busy at all. The staff were very friendly and polite. I had masala tea and masala dosa. The tea was very nice and had that typical Indian spice notes. The dosa was lovely , accompanied by Sambar and coconut chutneys. It was all very tasty , especially the Sambar, which had a very authentic taste. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for someone who fancies some Kerala food.”

“Wait to be seated was long for no apparent reason. The service was good, very attentive, but a big gap in middle of meal with no staff about so that we could get their attention. The food took quite long to come out but when it did, it was fabulous, worth the wait! Will definitely be returning.”

The meat was lovely and lean, family enjoyed the doner also tried cheese burgers which were very similar to McDonald’s taste! Staff explained the history of the Ottoman Empire which was very interesting. I pray for their success and recommend you try their doner the taste was amazing!”

“After our induction day today, we decided to go to this place, instead of ordering food. It was a nice experience in a nice atmosphere. The staffs were kind and they helped us to find the right meals providing options. Liked their mini libraries in the boxes. They have nice pictures on their walls. My meal was well presented (… as you can see in one of my pictures.) … and I found out, they have gardens for smokers and non smokers too.”

“Was walking past and thought I'd give this place a quick go. Ordered a lamb curry, lamb biryani and some Naans. Loved the curry. It had a good depth of flavour. I was expecting the curry to be served in a bowl and reheated but it actually came out in a small khari. The Naans where fresh, tasty and only cost 60p. Lamb Biryani didn't have much lamb, so when I told them they added more with no fuss. Only issue was it took a while for the food to arrive. But it was worth the wait. I'd definitely go back. Not a fancy place. But good food.”

“Hello , Today we ordered food from Hemas local kitchen and we were absolutely delighted with what we received. The food was packaged so well and the chapattis were very good and soft to have . The dhal was my favourite..though it was the thokku that was a bit hit in our house, especially my daughter's. We would def recommend Hemas local Kitchen for not just taste alone but the quality too . We are looking forward to you expanding into other food items as well . Will order again”

“Perfect Cooked Buffet Chips, Smosa, Chicken Wings, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Kebab, Fish Pakora, Chicken Baryani, Tarka daal, Mix Vegetables Curry, Chicken Jalfrezi, Mutton Curry, Haleem and Naan. In Chinese food Chilli Chicken, Spaghetti, Egg Fried Rice were available. In sweet dishes, sweet rice, Kheer, Sawaiyaan and children favorite red gelly was there which my children liked alot. Separate salad bar available. We visited with our cousins from Leeds, England. All dishes were well cooked and lazier, children under 10 half price, very happy with everything. Nice staff members. If you want well cooked food then visit Al-Qasr. Al-Qasr meets health & safety standards, we saw a point on entrance for hand gel etc. Good gap in tables.”

“Me and my boys came here to watch the Chelsea vs Liverpool FA Cup Final. Lovely service food was amazing nice seating and excellent shisha could not complain about anything. Cleanliness was not an issue. Definitely recommend friends and family to come here.”
