The Child Development Centre
● Closed“My son attended the Child Development Centre after we had exhausted all other avenues through the NHS and essentially got nowhere. I am not disparaging the NHS, I think they are marvellous but they do not have the time or resources to fully help our children the way they need help in these circumstances. We had the Centre recommended to us and it has really changed our lives. The relief that someone was finally making sense of our son's behaviour and difficulties that he was having was immense. He would jump and scream at unexpected noises, he would hate any labels in clothes, he would zoom around the house causing mayhem (not deliberately, quite the opposite he was very happy), but we did fear he had ADHD. He was like Tigger from Winnie the Poo, bouncing around everywhere! His concentration was very poor, he was very silly and immature for his age, he wasn't able to sit and watch a DVD, read a book or play with one toy or game for any period of time, he would get bored very easily and be off to play with another toy or game. From a very young age he would have obsessions - firstly the Fire Service and he would not anywhere unless in a full fireman's uniform with a utility belt, he was 4 yrs old at this stage and then it changed to the Police (5yrs old) and then the Army (8yrs old) with each obsession taking over all of our lives in one way or another. One fact we did find interesting was that Dyspraxia often gets misdiagnosed as ADHD. He was diagnosed as having Dyspraxia traits and audio dyslexia. We received a very detailed report which made so much sense in terms of why he was behaving the way he was, but more importantly we started the programme that would definitely change all of our lives for the better. The programme is not a quick fix solution. You need to be dedicated and understand there will be times when it is frustrating and it seems you are making no progress then other times when it accelerate and the changes are amazing. Most people comment that he is like a different boy now and he really is. Once we were able to get rid of the reflexes he had retained the changes became really noticeable. He is so much calmer now, he can concentrate - he reads so many books now which we are delighted at! The screaming when he's startled has stopped and he's even more tolerant to labels! In the beginning we did the on-line checklist on the website and ticked far too many! However, I would highly recommend doing this as it give you a really good idea on whether there is a problem there that needs solving. My husband and I had the conversation about the cost of the treatment and I remember him saying 'this could be the best money we've ever spent' and he was absolutely right, it was. I would highly recommend going for an initial assessment to find out all about it. We originally met David and then Alex continued all of the appointments and treatments with our son. He is excellent with children, very professional with a firm but easy-going manner. If you decide to do it, follow all of the instructions, they really do know what they are talking about and you will get better results by following them to the letter. The programmes are medication free which I loved, this is a totally natural way to help your child be the best they can be!”

Kooky - Whetstone
● Closed“Kooky Whetstone is really a good place to reside. As a couple newly arrived in London, we have been searching for a good, relaxing, quiet, and especially, safe place to settle. After an intense search for weeks, we made the final decision after two-time visit to Kooky. It is great for both Inside and outside the apartment. In addition to the place, the whole team is deserved to acknowledge and praise from sales to resident-care. Specifically, the praise should go to the manager, Vese, in light of her kindness and helpfulness. she even responded and resolved my concerns outside the office hours. Well impressed!! All in all, it is delightful and enjoyable!!”

Mount Carmel Kindergarten
● Closed“My daughter is due to graduate this July and I am dreading the day she does. I wish she could stay at Mount Carmel forever! My daughter was at a very good nursery but there is no comparison to Mount Carmel. The small groups mean that the teachers really get to know the children and care about them not just for them. I have seen my daughters confidence grow and she is already ahead of her age with her writing skills and is ready for school. The grounds are wonderful and this offers children a traditional setting that allows children to be themselves. Every day is different and being a family run business, the children feel part of the family too. I am so glad my youngest is starting in September, I am so excited for her.”

Sudbrook School
● Closed“Sudbrook is a lovely school, the children are loved and taught and come out with a good background. There is a great mix of physical and mental work coupled with healthy amounts of play. Honestly we could have done with having longer hours but if that's the worst problem then they are doing very very well. Highly recommended for your little ones. Not recommended as a sixth form college :) ......................”

Iverna Gardens Montessori
● Closed“My 5 children attended Iverna Gardens and as a consequence I was an 'Iverna Gardens Parents' for 10 years. I cannot find the words to describe how incredible Iverna has been for our family. My children are now aged 15 to 8 and there is not one day I miss not collecting one of them or dropping them at Iverna. I can definitely see on a day to day basis how my children have now become confident and independent learners, feeling safe to try new things, and to venture off the common path to take mesaured risks. Very importantly as well my children now all value friendship and kindness and I know for a fact that this is thanks to the environment in which they blossomed at Iverna, each of the 5 having their own nursery journey. The quality of the teachers was always incredible. The are all very approachable. It is a family run business and the atmosphere is extremely warm and welcoming also very genuine without fuss or pretention whatsover, which really mattered to me. At some point we had to move to Geneva, our children were temporarily in another nusery setting and the comparison cannot even be started. Before deciding on which nursery to go to for my first child, I had done extensive research in the whole areas of Kensington, Notting Hill, Chelsea and even Primrose Hill. What really drew me to Iverna was that the people there truly cared about the children. Yes they do apply Montessori approaches to learning and development - all the teachers are very well trained and knowledgeable - but a factor that makes the whole difference is that the nursery is run by incredibly emotionally smart people who take each child individually and ensure that each child travels through these formative first years happily and confidently.”

Cumnor House Nursery South Croydon
● Closed91 Pampisford Road, Croydon, South Croydon CR2 6DH, United Kingdom“We cannot fault anything about this nursery. The members of staff are wonderful and have really gotten to know our little boy. They communicate with us every evening at pick up and tell us everything about his day, what they've done, what he has eaten, how much he has slept, his mood and his progress. We cannot believe how much he has come on since joining this nursery in September after stalling in his development at another place. The food offered is varied and my little boys eating has really improved too. The facilities are great and the children spend lots of time outside and even have PE classes. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone!”

Play B C Preschool
● Closed“My daughter has thrived at BC Preschool, I can honestly say that I have complete peace of mind when I know she is there. The teachers are tentative, kind and considerate and acknowledge every child the same. No child gets overlooked. The activities that are set are engaging and carefully thought out, in addition to this, communications are sent back to parents to help continue the activity for the week at home. The newsletters are very informative and help guide me on how best to help my child thrive. Observations are shared with parents through an online tool which you as a parent can also update with activities we do outside of nursery and they are acknowledged and commented on which is refreshing. The communication overall, even on a daily basis is second to none and the teachers are very skilled at managing and helping them through the settling in phase or days where they are a little more sensitive. It is also nice that they do their best to ease any worry of the parent as they leave. The environment feels safe and the ratio of carers to children is well balanced. Some lovely little excursions are arranged and parents can join on occasion to help out. Great place to prepare a child for the bigger schools as everything that is planned is prepared with this in the mind to make it an easier transition. Big thanks from as always.”

Little Birches Nursery & Preschool
● Closed“My son has attended Little Birches West Wickham for over a year now. I can highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for the best possible place. Ultimately, I wanted my child to be happy and he really is, he walks in most days and doesn’t stop to look back - that is because he is comfortable and feels safe in this environment. The hard-working staff all know my son and my son knows them all. They have created a nurturing environment, where he is invited to play, explore, be curious, respect others and learn life skills. If you haven’t already, it’s worth a visit as we were blown away by the different indoor and outdoor learning spaces, each decorated and resourced in an eco-friendly way, not to mention the forest school in the surrounding woods. My son has formed the most wonderful friendships already, and we are regularly updated with photos and comments about his progress via Tapestry and at the gate. We feel very much a part of the LB family and are incredibly lucky to have our son attend here.”

Explorikids Preschool
● Closed“Explorikids is such a lovely preschool with a good variety of toys and play/educational tools to keep little ones engaged and learning whilst playing and exploring indoors and in their outside space. Maira is not only very knowledgeable about all things educational, but she has a very nurturing and gentle approach with the children, that made me trust my child to her care from the moment I meet her. I just wish she was also the Head at my eldest's primary school! On a final note, I was also particularly pleased to discover her Spanish is of native level. How advantageous for my little one to be exposed to a second language from such a young age!”

Zikora Day Nursery and Preschool
● Closed1C Maryland Park, London E15 1HR, United Kingdom“My DS went to Zikora at 13 months and stayed there until 2.7 yo, when we moved out of London. I am very grateful for the care he received there. He has learned how to count, recite the alphabet, and sing many songs. In the nursery children learn to plant flowers and vegetables, then see them grow and sometimes make a dinner from them! It’s amazing! I don’t know any nursery in East London which does this. My son comes from the nursery and starts to take off and put on his shoes and coat by himself! The manager Mohammed is very dedicated and strives to provide new interesting and educational activities such as pottery and wood work. The staff who looks after kids are fantastic and very supportive. They suggested for a long time I start to potty train DS, which I had thought him too young for, but thankfully I took their advise and with their support he is now fully trained (except for his nightly sleep). I would definitely recommend Zikora Day Nursery to everyone who wants good care and great development for their child while they work.”
