Abbey Wood Nursery School
● Closed“I cannot praise this nursery highly enough! It has been a fantastic place for both of my children that provides very high quality early years education. My kids always love going there. The staff communicate really well with the children helping them to feel safe and secure but also encouraging them to be independent, learning how to take care of practical things like putting on coats and doing craft activities as well as interacting well with peers. When I drop my daughter off in the morning I love to see the imaginative range of activities that have been set up each day. The children start each day in their base room and return there for a story at the end of the session but for the rest of the time it is free flow. Children can go outside whatever the weather. On a rainy day, my daughter loves looking for snails or playing in puddles. The school has the ethos that learning should be adapted to children’s interests so it never feels like work. My son loved being outside so staff would find learning activities he could do outdoors. He still cherishes a little notebook he made at nursery to take outdoors and practice his mark making skills by drawing pictures of the imaginary monsters he was searching for with his friends. Abbey Wood Nursery School has very good facilities and equipment including a large playground, grassy areas, a vegetable garden, a forest school area, a mud kitchen, walls for painting and using chalks on, a climbing frame, a workshop area, home corners, moveable gym equipment, tricycles, water play equipment, craft equipment and book corners. The school hatches out chick eggs and keeps caterpillars to watch the metamorphosis into butterflies each year. Story sessions and some of the activities on offer are linked to the topics each class is following allowing children to build their understanding of the world over an extended period of time. I am certain that the rich learning experiences my children have had at this nursery school and the language skills and understanding they have gained will serve them well for years to come.”

Comet Nursery School & Children's Centre
● Closed“In my experience: an extraordinary centre, doing extraordinary things. Our local community is a true social mix , which brings many challenges, and Comet supports every child and its family with great skill. My daughter benefited enormously from the award-winning Pupil Premium care, and we will treasure her special book, painstakingly made by the teachers for every child, for ever. The headteacher is firm, but always fair; the office is run with organisational brilliance, and the teaching and support team work wonders. I would recommend Comet without hesitation.”

Strand-on-the-Green Infant School
● Closed“HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! The staff of teachers are the best in the area. The care and attention they give my son by far exceeded any of my expectations. The curriculum that this school follows is absolutely amazing. He has been developing exceptional skills in geography, early math and reading. The instruction he receives and the teachers dedication to inspiring little students to learn far surpasses any expectations that I had. As if the instruction was not enough, the staff are amazing! All of the teachers are so positive and it is completely apparent how much they care for the children. Mrs Townsend, the school’s Head Teacher, as well as Miss Bhatti, the Deputy Head, are committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment for children. They have done an amazing job staffing the school with teachers that are just as committed. Beyond my happiness with the school is my son’s, which is most important. He cannot wait to leave for school every morning. I am absolutely thrilled to have found an environment that is allowing my son to flourish and preparing him for his future education, while at that same time providing him an opportunity to have fun with the friends he has made. I look forward to watching his continued development as he continues his school years at the junior school. We highly recommend the STOG Infants & Nursery School.”
