Vertige Café
● Closed154 Canonbury Road, London N1 2UP, United Kingdom“French café just across from Highbury & Islington Tube and Overground station. Fabulous pancakes with caramelised banana, yoghurt, syrup and raspberry sauce. Orange and polenta cake was also excellent with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. The drinks are modest-sized but, like everything else, extremely well done. Stepped in because it was opened before 9am on a Sunday morning. What a lovely surprise.”

Vunch Café
● Closed“Not vegan but we visited this café a few days ago and had a fantastic lunch. Two really delicious salads with pitta bread and roast (??) veg. Meant to take a pic of food but ate it all so a pic of empty plates instead. : ) There are also sausage rolls and paninis. There are lovely cakes too and I loved the vanilla cheesecake . Everything freshly prepared and cooked. Very clean place and friendly staff who are happy to explain vegan food. Would be nice if they had something written down explaining more about vegan food though; meat substitute salad dressings etc.. Don't be put off by vegan food - its delicious! Will be back soon.”

Café 108
● Closed“I love this place! It's one of the local cafes in my area and its been a staple for a quick breakfast or lunch run while working from home. My family and I occasionally go and have Sunday brunch as well. The staff are always friendly and the clientele is varied to say the least (keep fit groups, cyclists builders and families) but the cafe is doing something right as everyone keeps coming back! Great portion sizes and a varied menu means all tastes are catered for. The only thing I would advise is getting there at a good time as it can get really busy and you may have to wait a while to get a seat inside the main area (they do have additional seating at the back of the restaurant with patio heaters if it gets a bit chilly).”

Dainese London
● Closed“Visited the store on a few occasions. By the end of it, leaving with my first 1 piece leather suit, boots and gloves. Needed a bit of altering on the suit and they couldn’t have recommended anyone better for the job! They helped me every step of the way, no hesitation with answering endless questions and more than willing to help. They have a very welcoming team with huge knowledge and patience. The store is also incredible! Must be the best in London!! They have lockers for your helmet, great changing rooms, upstairs and downstairs and a bike to sit on and test the comfort of your gear. Recently had my first experience on track and the gear I purchased from Dainese has just been amazingly comfortable, so really happy with that! Many thanks to Dale and Tomasz. Great assets to your team! I’m sure I’ll be back sometime for a custom suit :) Thanks Dainese!!!”

Café Japan
● Closed“I loved this place! I'm enthusiastic to have found another great place for sushi! There is a good variety of choices (Suzuki, Tai, Hamachi, Buri) and the quality definitely stands out (I suppose it is because the fish is supplied by Atariya). We had for starters edamame and agedashi tofu. For thefish, we had the nigiri omakase (chef's choice) and 7 kinds of sashimi. Last but not least, the price, which might appear expensive, is adequate in my opinion to the quality and the service you receive.”

Café Chai
● Closed“Have been two times before an afternoon walk in Banstead woods. Tried various omelettes and a bacon and egg sandwich, all were lovely. The omelette with sides is a big portion which I share with my 4 year old. It's my aim to return and try the delicious looking scones. There's only one toilet which can result in small waits but it was relatively clean. Environment busy but comfortable and pleasant on the eye.”

Café Amisha
● Closed“Uanama bellll!! Top, Top, Top!! Cafe' Amisha is the best Italian Restaurant in South-East London. All ingredients come directly from Italy, and all the chefs are Italian. All the waiters and Paola are incredibly kind and attentive. The main Chef, Leo, aka "The Maestro", is impressive. He cooks traditional recipes from Apulia and nationwide Italian food. Fregola, Pizza (ask for tuna and cipolla!) and fish are top at Amisha's cafe. At Easter time, ask for a Pastiera, a traditional Southern Italy Easter cake made. Maestro's pastiera is as good as my mum's. They also have a shop for Italian food which has really good stuff and Italian delicatessens. The owner, Francesco, is amazing. He is the most friendly and the nicest person ever. He is a natural people person, always smiling and happy. He also saved my life during the first lockdown and the food shortage. I bougth everything I needed there. He and his staff also delivered food to my place at any hour, including regular fresh fish deliveries.. He is also actively volunteering to help the NHS and the local community. A living hero, in a few words. He truly deserves a half-body statue at the nearby SPA garden.”

Le Café du Marché
● Closed“I so wish there was a six star opportunity when something is so outstanding like this restaurant. Everything was amazing and to taste. Although hidden away it is well worth the search. They have 2 or 3 course meal deals or item by item. The wine and champagne that I both had were outstanding selection by the staff. Very romantic and intermittent. One of the place places I have EVER eaten. And they had live music on a Thursday night.”

We found Jenny’s online and I’m so pleased we went! I haven’t had Bubble and Squeak in years and boy, was it good! My husband and I both ordered “Jenny’s Breakfast” (pictured) and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Exceptional value for money!”

The Café at Christ Church - the cafe is inside the church
● Closed“The toasties are fantastic, the cakes are sweet, the staff are lovely, and they make delicious coffee. Usually I think there are comfy sofas but during these Covid times it's just standard tables and chairs but they're comfy enough. It's a lovely place to stop for a coffee and bite to eat if you're in the town centre. Oh, and if you like jacket potatoes, theirs are HUGE!”

Abundance Café
● Closed“There aren't many places around where you can have a rest with a cup of nice coffee. Brand new, after complete refurbishment, plenty of space for a small company or individuals. A bit limited variety of snacks, but panini can be heated and coffee is good. Child friendly, as there are toilets and no problems to be with a buggy inside”
