Best food in Leatherhead

“Here you can see the chef's specialty for a Thursday lunch, lasagna with chips and salad. It was delicious, hot and we had a bunch of sauces on the table as well. It was a little bit too much for me, I left a little bit of lasagna on my plate when I was done. 5* for the friendly staff, the location, the place. Highly recommend this place.”

“Been twice this week for coffee and was extremely impressed with the quality. Friendly staff and ever so helpful when asked a question. As a coeliac my options are limited, but there is carrot cake which I have yet to sample. Music was unobtrusive and seventies/eighties. Loads of space and a real asset to Leatherhead.”

“We booked a meal for 40 of us after getting married in Leatherhead earlier that day. We could not have had a better time or service from the team at the Penny Black - the communication with the manager ahead of time was helpful and quick, we were able to drop cakes and decorations etc off in the morning and the pre-ordered drinks were ready for our arrival. The team on that day were friendly and available for whatever we needed. HUGE thank you to the kitchen team who managed to get out 40 pre-ordered meals at the same time and all hot. This is not just your average pub - 5* 10/10 recommendation. The manager on shift that day said they didn't really do bigger groups or weddings that often but if you are reading this and looking to book a party or bigger group event in Leatherhead - Penny Black is where you need to go.”

“Just wanted to say 'thank you', especially to the male member of staff on checkout/stacking who helped me greatly and stopped me having a bit of a meltdown when my electric wheelchair decided to take some timeout at the checkout this afternoon, he was kind, considerate, polite and understanding and reassured me that my dilema was not a problem even though I could hear a few 'tuts' from customers behind me. I forgot to look at his name badge , but he knows who he is and you should too as there will be a little halo shining brightly above him, please pass on my HUGE thanks to him again and reassure him that the taxi got me home safely. “Young man called ayan was extremely helpful and respectful. He helped my aged mother pack her shopping and also carried it out to the car for her. Amazing customer service even though the shop was super busy. We were very well looked after. The whole team is very welcoming and friendly, even though sometimes their facial expressions show they are under pressure. Never the less they always do their best to help. Car park is always busy and it can take forever to find parking but once inside the staff always try their best to help. Very good experiance and i always prefer it iver other super markets.”

“I cannot thank the staff enough for a lovely lunch with my old mum. I asked for a quiet corner and it was perfect. Food was great and reasonably priced and the staff were amazing. “This supermarket has a great range of goods, including some Habitat household items, Tu clothing and even children's toys At the back there is an in-store Argos, where you can order and collect items. The parking in the Swan Centre car park is so much better now that the spaces have been widened and the lift to from the store is very convenient. They have reinstated the use of a coin to unlock the shopping trollies, so don't forget your £1. Staff were helpful when searching for things and at the tills.”

“Nice Lidl store, all the expected products, can get very crowded when busy. Make sure you validate your parking using your till receipt after you've done your shopping otherwise there'll be a hefty penalty charge!”

“The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to! I’ve been coming here for years with my family and we absolutely love it. The staff are beyond lovely; they are so friendly and accommodating, truly superb customer service. The food is outstanding; there is a massive variety to choose from, and the food is always fresh and tasty. I recommend the Beef with Black Bean and Garlic Sauce, or the Chicken with Mushrooms, and for dessert the Toffee Banana is excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough and hope to continue coming here for many years to come!”

“Had chicken and spinach pizza was delicious, my husband who is coeliac had a gluten free pizza and says one of the best he has tasted, both had sweets, me tiramisu and hazelnut ice cream both delicious, waiters were happy and polite, background Italian music relaxing and enjoyable, lovely bottle of red wine to wash it down”

“We have just had the most wonderful takeaway meal - I can’t single out a dish as it was all so good but the chow mein is delicious, the curry fantastic, chicken balls amazing, and the sweet n sour chicken the best I’ve tasted - oh and don’t forget to add the crispy seaweed! If you haven’t tried JP & Chef yet, you are missing out!”
