“A lovely experience at Bramleys tonight. I really love the interior design and the little details that the owners have applied to this lovely restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the front of house which is so important to me when you are trying a new restaurant out. The food was exquisite. I had the warm goats cheese to start with. It was just the right amount of goats cheese with a balsamic glaze. DELICIOUS! Mains- lamb cutlets with greens which again were so tasty. To finish off we shared a Nutella cheesecake. I normally do not order desert but this has to be ordered. Will definitely go back. How can I not when I truly had such a lovely dining experience.”

“This is hands down the best Kurdish / Kebab place on Green Lanes. Don’t be fooled by the glitzy mega kebab restaurants down the Main Street. This is the only place worth visiting on Green Lanes. They make their own tandoori bread, and once seated you are greeted with pickles and lovely warm soup. The kebabs are expertly seasoned and served without fuss - but with tons of intense charcoal grilled flavour.”

“While staying in London my husband and I came in twice (we were walking distance). The food was delicious and the service was super friendly both evenings. They have vegetarian options and they also cater to other dietary needs. Great drinks and vibe.”

“Went here for a Christmas do a couple of years back, was impressed. Still incredibly impressed when I went back yesterday and had the death by meat aka the Mixed Grill - big portion, plus meats were cooked perfectly. Excellent pub with great food, worth a visit, but better to book ahead if you want to eat in the evening.”

“This is an old fashioned 'local' with no food served other than crisps and peanuts etc but the landlady is very friendly. My walkers group have just resumed visiting there after our walk and she always bakes delicious cakes for us. There is a nice little garden to the side of it with very comfy patio furniture”

“We had a really lovely experience here after some very hit and misses (more commonly misses) in the surrounding area while staying here for a week. The lady that served us was French and brought with her that air of hospitality as a career rather than a job that continental Europeans have that makes for really nice service. Efficient, polite and warm but unobtrusive. We hadn’t booked but were seated easily although it was a fairly busy Thursday night. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating available and a kids play park. I was so so happy to see the menu. A few carefully curated items rather than a huge menu (which I always avoid where possible as you just know it’s either done badly or isn’t fresh). I was surprised to notice that despite the appealing choices on the menu, literally everyone around us seemed to be eating burgers or fish and chips! Each to their own I suppose but I had the confit duck, my husband the lamb cutlets and his father the mussels. We all thought our food was incredibly tasty and were so happy we went on and had puddings which were also yummy. We would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area highly recommend!”

Prices are good, portions are generous and the food selection is plentiful. This is one of the few places in Penge offering a nice selection of veggie/create your own breakfasts too.”

There is a very short menu. A waiter explained us what each dish was very well, in a picturesque way that we will hardly forget. Cod is highly advised: I never had a better one.”

Food was amazing - I’d highly recommend the plaintain taco - their best. Drinks were also good. The staff showed loads of energy and were very helpful. Impressed with everything about this place. Easily accessible as well - quite central. reasonably quick service as well, they made a nice thing about the birthday too which felt good”
